Its not depand upon branch its only depend on your hadr work and your capability. there are amny branch option to select. But you have to do mainly one thing that choose your interested field. Because which you select after graduation you have to do masters and have advance knowledge of that field. electrical, mechanical, aerospace, chemical, optical etc are branches for you. Good luck |

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
i feel you can opt for either aeronautical or aerospace engineering if you want to join NASA. institues like MIT ,Hindustan university, sathyabhama university offers this course and all the IIT's in india offer this course.even though if you don't get into NASA you can join the ISRO or the defence ministry.you can also get jobs in the civil aviation department or in companies like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.Rather than NASA also the aeronautical engineers have a good scope in UK,USA,France. Other some collages which offer these courses are the Amity university in Uttar pradesh,Nooral Islam collage in tamil nadu, hindustan aviation academy in banglore, Amritha university in coimbatore,Punjab engineerin collage and many more.Hope this cleared your doubt..

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
You want to join NASA! Xcellent!
People will tell you that if you complete aerospace/aeronautical engineering from premier Indian institutes, you will have better chance at NASA. True; but it is a half-truth. NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) employs a whole host of professionals - engineers, medicos, geologists, physicists, microbiologists... so you see, you have more options but then you will have to work really hard and be a topper if whichever field you choose. No Indian institute (Government or Private) will guarantee you direct placements to NASA but your good academic records will certainly help you when you apply for NASA jobs. Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
To get into NASA you need to be really smart and should have some luck too. There is actually nothing like best engineering to join NASA.
You can get through NASA with Aeronautical Engineering,Civil Engineering,Electronics engineering Best i would tell you to go for Aeronatical engineering. But let me tell you that to get into NASA is a tough job. But why aim for NASA try for ISRO which you may possibly get through. Just write ISAT exam. If you pass through then then you will be admitted to IIST I heard there are some direct placements in ISRO. SO try for ISAT and then maybe if possible try to Masters from US and try applying for NASA later |

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
Hi.
Best branch to career in NASA is Mechanical Engineering as it covers many areas like Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Material science etc. Also Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering can give a good scope for the same. However you can select Aerospace engineering as most suitable branch but this offers very narrow future aspects than mechanical. |

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
basically, these are mechanical subjects, they normally in course, dont have much utility.
but,if you you want to work in mechatronics section of core sector, you will find them useful. another one in vast application at nasa,is electronics and instrumentation. |

NASA have many deparments.such as astronaut, avoinics, propulsion,R&D,Administration etc etc. for selection in NASA you need to be a good engineer in any field.if you wish to be an astronaut you need to go through aeronautical engineering studies. In india no colleges offer direct placements at NASA.there are some agencies who are enrolling good engineers for NASA.so work hard for studies and also visit NASA's website. good luck. |

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
if you want to join in NASA then you should read aeronautical engineering from a very reputed institution like IIT.
also you may study on electronics and communication engineering to join in NASA although they recruit so many engineer from different stream. so do not worry about this, read in that branch in which you have more interest and knowledge. then you will be able to join easily in NASA. you may join in ISRO, DRDO etc company. indian defense sector is also give a good opportunity for the engineer to serve with them. best wishes. |

I think this created a bigger picture in your mind... If you are clear with your goals first, then a definite path can be opted. By the way, the engineering courses in the discipline of..
There are a whole lot of colleges and universities offering the courses given above right from IIT's, NIT's to affiliated colleges... The Only option to get there is a sincere work on your subjects of studies.. A consistent research oriented learning would be of great impact to find careers at NASA. you will have to complete your studies in any of the above stated subjects till "PhD" and do some weight projects that are recognized at organizations like DRDO, ISRO, etc., Getting to NASA costs a good time of great hard work.. :::MUST DO::: Read APJ Abdul Kalam's Biography... Wings of Fire book You will get to know what is the path to reach NASA and what it takes!! Regards, |

Re: Which engineering to prefer to join NASA in future?
You can go through any branch of engineering you like.........
Most of the astronauts in NASA have aerospace engineering as their degree......... Get M Sc and PhD after Bachelor's degree...... You can't direct Placement as they require candidates with professional experience of at least 3 years. So first go through ISRO then apply for NASA.....Although its a tough job.... all the best !!!!!!!!! |
