yours first stage is to clear the UPSC exam which is known as staff selection commission test.after clear the exam you will reach to the second stage and called for an interview.

To join the CBI department, you will need to appear for Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam, conducted by the Staff selection commission every year. The educational qualification required for the exam is graduate in any discipline.The minimum eligible age, for the same is 20 years wheras, the maximum age limit is 27 years with relaxation of upto 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. The examination comprises of two papers. 1. General intelligence & awareness 2. Arithmatic The preliminary exam is is followed by the Main exam. The Main exam comprise of English language, Comprehension, Communication skill and writing ability ,Arithmetic and General studies. CBI means central bureau of investigation . To get into CBI its not an easy task as there is lots of competition to get into it.
Every year UPSC organizes an entrance test called SSC exam(Staff selection commission). After you clear the test you will be called for an interview which is one of the toughest part of clearing the who phase. So prepare hard for the SSC exam |

Recruitment to the Central Bureau of Investigation is done through the exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. There is both a written test and interview involved. For the written test there are two papers. The first paper will have objective questions in English language and general knowledge. The second paper consists of questions from Arithmetic. Those who qualify the written exam will be eligible to appear for the interview. For appearing for these exams you must have completed your degree and age limit is minimum of 18 years and maximum of 28 years.

CBI functions under Ministry Of Personnel. Its recruitment is done by UPSC. The direct recruitment of constables in CBI, is made on centralized basis by CBI Head Office. Their selection is made by the committee constituted by the Director,CBI.
Eligibility for appearing CBI exam :- 1) Age :- Your's age must lie between :- (a) 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIs in CBI (b) 18 to 27 years for inspectors of CE/IT & Div. Acctts/Auditors/UDCs, etc., (c) 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of the August of the year of Examination. The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of SC,ST,OBC. 2) Educational Qualification :- You should have a degree of a recognized University or equivalent. Examination Pattern :- It consists of two parts: Part I :- Consists of Written Test.Written Test consist of 400 marks of all objective type questions. Part II :- Consists of Personal Interview. If you apply for the CBI exam you need to appear for the CGPE (Combined graduate preliminary Exam) which is conducted by SSC. The eligibility for appearing to the CGPE will be graduation in any discipline from any recognized university.The final year students can also apply for this exam.
