GATE Lifesciences exam pattern?


please inform me the gate lifesciences exam pattern and total marks,some old papers please?

GATE EXAM PATTERN FOR LIFE SCIENCE


there will be 2 section .

1. CHEMISTRY ( compulsory )


this section will have 4 topics

> group 1

In this group the question will be from 1 to 6. ( 6 questions )

negative marking - 1/3 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

total marks - 6 ( 6*1 )


> group 2

question will be from 7 to 14 ( 8 questions )

negative marking - 2/3 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

total marks - 16 ( 8*2 )


> group 3

question no. 15 and 16.

negative marking - 2/3 for each wrong answer.

total marks - 4 ( 2 * 2 )


> group 4

question 17 and 18.

both the question will be linked with each other, if the first one is wrong then the second will not be evaluated.

negative marking - 2/3 for each wrong answer.

total marks - 4 ( 2*2 )


2. SECTION PAPERS


This section will be divided into 2 groups.

> group 1

question from 1 to 7 ( 7 questions )

negative marking - 1/3 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

total marks - 7 ( 7*1 )


> group 2

question from 8 to 21 ( 14 questions )

negative marks - 2/3 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

total marks - 28 ( 14 *2 )

For GATE XL paper(life sciences)
1. CHEMISTRY section(section H) is compulsory.This section contains 15
questions carrying a total of 25 marks.
5 questions 1 mark each
10 questions 2 marks each
2. each other section(SECTIONS I through M) of the XL paper contains 20 questions carrying a
total of 30 marks
10 questions 1 mark each
10 questions 2 marks each
