how to apply for C.P.T. online exam for dec. atempt...please tell me how to apply

CPT stands for the Common Proficiency Test. It is the first level of Chartered Accountancy followed by IPCC, Articleship and Final course. CPT exam is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Eligibility criteria:

Any candidate who want to become chartered accountant can register for CPT after completing 10th from a recognized board and can appear for this exam after passing 10+2.

Examination pattern:

It consists of 200 multiple choice questions from the following areas:

1. Accounting: 60 marks

2. Mercantile Laws: 40 marks.

3. Economics: 50 marks

4. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 marks

In order to pass CPT, you need to score 30% marks in each paper and overall 50% in all four above mentioned areas.

How to apply for the CPT exam:

CPT exams are conducted twice every year by the ICAI in the month of June and December. The next CPT exam is on 14/06/2015 and after that December exam for 2015 will be conducted.

If you are eligible for the exam, you can apply at www.icai.org. The last date for June CPT exam application is 28/04/2015.

Common proficiency test is a entry level examination in chattered accountant course. To be eligible for this examination, you must have passed class 12 examination from any recognised board in India. This examination is held twice in a year during the month of July and August. After passing this examination, you can appear for IPCC which the second level for becoming chattered accountant. Graduates are allowed for second level directly skipping cpt.
