Re: How can I apply for IAS? I have passed 10th class
You are definitely eligible for the Indian Administrative Service. But still would require to clear the entrance exam called Civil Services Examination. It is precisely conducted to recruit IAS, IPS, IFS officers.
Let me first tell you that marks are not considered at all to apply for the Civil Services Examination. You should only have graduation degree, which you have obtained. Now the Civil Services Examination will not be conducted till next year. You can apply for the next year's exam once the notification is issued by the government. Wait for the notification and then apply for the Civil Services Examination. But till then you have the time to prepare for the exam. Do the following:- 1. You should select 2 optional subjects for the IAS exam. 2. Make sure subjects are related to your course or the ones you find easy. 3. Get the NCERT Books for 12th standard to prepare for exam. 4. You should download previous years papers from internet and crack them. 5. Work on your English, if required. You can take English classes or simply take help of friends with good english to help you out. 6. Read newspapers and political magazines. It will help you to prepare for the exam. IAS Eligibility 1. A citizen of India can apply for it. 2. Who has completed graduation degree. 3. Do not have any marks criteria. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. Relaxation is 3 years for OBC. 6. and 5 years for SC/ST. 7. There are no physical requirements. 8. General candidates have 4 attempts to clear exam. 9. OBC gets 7 attempts. 10. While there is no limit for SC/ST. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |
