Passed (10+2) with 78% in Science subjects. Can I get admission in IEM,Kolkata
directly. I have no rank card of WBJEE. In AIEEE I have not done well.

Look dear, i would better suggest you that as IEM kolkata takes admission through AIEEE scores you would better apply for its, here is the application link:iem.edu.in/eng/Docs/iem_form2009.pdf and its official web link is iem.edu.in/eng/Default.aspx ,so better try it what ever marks you have got don't worry for it and one more thing i want to say that as it is a private college it might have management quota though it is not mentioned in the website but still make it sure whether it is there or not.

First of all be Frank, you have did'nt mntioned your AIEEE rank, which is very important to know for answering.

Never hesitate in Questioning, if you do so evry time you will loss.

However, if you dont have WBJEE Rank Card that's mean either you have "No Rank" in WBJEE or have'nt appear for it. If so then only one way is there to get into IEM.

And that is "Management Quota" and for getting through it at least AIEEE rank within 7 Lacs is required, without it it is impossible to get there. If you have 7 Lacs then by going through Management Quota will cost you 13 Lacs (Approx) for full 4 years of Package and other then IEM institutes like- Heritage Institute of Technology, Techno India will also cost more or less same.

First of all dont hesitate, just call into IEM explain your situation and ask how much they are asking for doing so. You can find contact details from WBJEE Information Brouchure.

Dont opt for Consultancy it will cost you much.

Look dear if you dont have WBJEE rank or you haven't done well in AIEEE, so don't worry better you apply to the institute with out any hesitation, and one more thing i would better say that as it might have management quota, so don't worry if you normally don't get into IEM management quota will help you.

These are some of the colleges which you might go for, but i would better suggest their are many colleges which are much better than this situated out side West Bengal.So, i would better suggest that go for colleges situated in BANGALORE mainly because right their you don't have to think of good placements because the city has got the top corporate sectors which W.Bengal is deprived of.

If your AIEEE AIR is 1,05759 and state rank is 2929, then you can not expect either Heritage or IEM. For getting into that institutes through AIEEE, you must requires state rank within 1,000.

And your WBJEE rank is not enough to fetch a seat in anyone of them. Thats because for that you need WBJEE rank within 2,000 for getting into Either of them.

However, you can get anyother good colleges like-

If you still dont want to compromise with IEM or Heritage, then there is a way that is Management Quota. Dont know about Heritage but IEM will cost near about 13 lacs for 4 years package.

So please apply to other colleges through mangament quota. you will definately get

There is no way to get into the college directly
the only procedures available to admit into the college are
To get admitted into the college one must qualify the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or few seats are also reserved for AIEEE successful candidates. The selection for the MBA course is done on the basis of the CAT score of an individual whose minimum qualification should be at least a bachelor degree in Science or Commerce or Engineering.

Yeah you can get into some good institutes as every institute have reservation for SC candidates.

You can expect Seacom, Technoindia, JIS Group, Apeejey Group, Pailan Group, St.Thomas, and many more.........But through your SC Ranks either of WBJEE or AIEEE. I think councelling will be held on 3 july for both WBJEE and AIEEE.

Dont worry chances are good enough for you.

Yeah definitely you have guessed right...!

Cost will depends upon Institutes itself, each demands according to there standard.

For Example:- I am telling the fees for which institutes I have Enquire.

Swami Vivekanand Institute of Science & Technology: Capitation= 5 Lacs + Course fees as applicable. Institute has good placement record.

IEM: Mostly it offers full package for Management Quota, which is 13 Lacs for whole B.Tech course.

JIS Group: Basically there are 3 Engineering colleges under it. Capitation- 3 - 4 Lacs (Depending on WBJEE/AIEEE ranks) + Course fees as applicable.

FUTURE Group: It offers full package of about 8 Lacs for whole B.Tech Course.

Ballubhum: Capitation- 2 Lacs + Course fess as applicable.

Techno Group: Capitation =5 Lacs + Course fees as applicable.

Pailan Group: Capitation= 3 Lcas + Course fees as applicable.

Heritage Institute of Technology: It will cost more or less as IEM, comparetetively low.

If you have any doubt you can just Enquire with some Consultancy, or better just call the respective institute and talk them directly what they say. I think Reputed Institute will not entertain any thing on Phine they will cal you to Campus.

Sorry to say but you cannot get admitted in IEM without a wbjee rank of below 2,500 or an aieee air rank of below 20,000.
Hence you should look for another institute this year or try next year.

I've got AIR 19514 in AIEEE and belong to OBC category. I want to study Computer Sciences. I've also got 4416 rank in WBJEE. What would better for me, to study in IEM or in NIT.
How much expense shall I have to bear to study 4 yrs in IEM.

Better you do business instead of study. Why you prefer to IEM? It is reputed by name only. No infrastructure. It is a Alipore jail.

Well, if 36700 is your AIR then probably your State Rank will be within 500 then you can expect IEM or Heritage, otherwise if 36700 is your state rank then its not possible.

Yeah in that case only way left Management Quota, but it will cost you 13 Lacs for 4 years B.Tech course.

IEM is one of the reputed engineering colleges of WEST BENGAL.

they take admission of the students on the basis of their WBJEE and AIEEE rank.

as u don't have any rank in both the xams so u can't take admission to IEM.

but u should contact with the IEM management for admission through donation.

Dear BCA is entirely different thing, it has nothing to compare with B.Tech.

B.Tech holds its own value while BCA stands in its own corner.

No comparision is possible......

However, if you are persuing MCA then it can be compared with B.Tech (CSE/IT) to more or less 70% consideration.

For BCA from IEM it will cost more or less 2 Lacs (approx), While B.Tech will cost 4 Lacs (approx) if someone is going throuh Councelling.

there is only engg. specification at institute of engg. & management,salt lake.
there are 5 specific branches for b.tech under wbut university,
you can take through donation only at this institute.
it is above 5 lacs.

hi dear dont loose hope as this is a private college then try to call them and ask for the managment seat
they will tell how much you have to pay accordibg to your rank in aieee as you have not written wbjee
try to contact them
