How can I join Optometry course? Jib opportunity and salary range?


I am a +2 complete student.I would like to join optometry course.How can I join this course.Can you tell me about job opportunity and salary range and govt. college in kerala.

If you want to study Optometry after completing your 10+2, then you can apply for bachelors degree in optometry that is B.Optometry. Here below are details regarding B.Optometry course:-

Eligibility required to apply for B.Optometry :- Minimum qualification required to apply for B.Optometry course is 10+2 in science stream with PCM subjects from government recognized board with minimum 50% marks.

Duration of B.Optometry Course:- Duration of B.Optometry degree is 3 years.

Major Subjects for B.Optometry Course:-
Major subjects to be studied are Human biology, Basic biochemistry, Eye anatomy and physiology, Ophthalmic optics, Computer fundamentals, Visual optics, Dispersing optics, Ophthalmic instruments, Ocular disease, Optics and refraction, Contact lens, Major eye disease, Nutrition and eye, Advanced orthodontics etc.

Employment Area after B.Optometry:-


>> Army and Public health bodies.

>> Optical manufacturing industry.

>> Medical centers.

>> Hospitals.

>> Medical organization.

Salary Offered after B.Optometry:-
Salary offered in above mentioned employment areas id Rs:- 12,000/- to Rs:- 25,000/- per month.
