Re: How to crack GATE exam? I am a student of 5th semester
Hi !!
Here are some tips to crack GATE : 1. Follow standard books, stress on understanding things than memorizing them. 2. Solve objective type (especially numericals) questions as much as possible. 3. No need to cover the entire syllabus. 4. Keep preparing your personal notes as you cover topics. 5. Do not practice questions in rough. You may need to see the solutions at the time of revision. 6. Go through previous year papers (say last 10 years) to check your knowledge and note the distribution of different topics. Here are some books recommended for GATE preparation :- Strength of Materials, Theory of Structures by Rammamrutham. Soil Mechanics by V N S Murthy. Survey by Aurora, Som Ghosh. Water Resources by S K Garg. Transportation by Justo Khanna. Steel Design by Kazimi Zindal for improving concepts and practise numericals from Negi. RCC Design by Krishna Raju, PC Verghese. Prestressed Concrete by Krishna Raju. SAMPLE PAPERS :- http://www.respaper.com/gate/518/2282.pdf http://www.respaper.com/gate/518/4828.pdf http://www.respaper.com/gate/518/8263.pdf |

Re: How to crack GATE exam? I am a student of 5th semester
Hi
This is the best time to start your preparation The syllabus is same as your b.tech course (more precise syllabus you will get on net ) So take your study seriously Best book is GK Publication of your field. it gives you quick review on concepts and lots of MCQ In the end it gives you past year question papers. Trying solving as many question paper as possible. All the best |
