I want for my son in Indian Military Academy for for the year coming 2016, Therefore I want to know how to get admission.

Thank you for asking this question and join to join the reputed Indian Military academy is an achievement in itself but to join IMA your son have to crack CDS exam and CDS exam is conducted by UPSC and happens twice a year. to know about the timings of the examination you can regularly visit UPSC website or the daily newspaper.

But the major requirement to apply for CDS is that your son must complete his graduation in any discipline and his age should be between 19-24 years. and to prepare for this exam you can purchase CDS examination books or can take coaching and if your son is an Engineering graduate then your son can apply for the Engineering graduated entry and for that the age that is required is 20-27 years, Eligible candidates are directly eligible for SSB interview. For university entry scheme you have to complete BE/Btech.

Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) is one of the four wings of Combined Defense Services (CDS) and therefore to join IMA you need to clear the CDS examination.

CDS examinations are held twice every year by Union Public Service Commission twice every year which are basically known as CDS I & CDS II. Also the examination is held in two stages which are general ability test and Service Selection Board interview held in mentioned order. 2. Indian Military Academy :------------

Since you haven't mentioned about the educational qualification of your son, so here are the options which you have-

If your son have passed intermediate then,he can try for NDA.
Here you have to note that if he has done your diploma after the high school then unfortunately he won't not be eligible for the same exam.

Let me now, tell you the other necessary eligibility criteria and then you can decide how to proceed with your plans of going into the Army-

1. Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.
2. At least intermediate cleared with any stream.
3. Male candidate

To get into Indian Military Academy you can apply for the following types of entries :

Sir I got only 62 % in PCM So I will eligible to Join IMA Dehradun and Presently I am doing BE in Mechanical engineering so please suggest me.
