Dear sir/Ms,

currently i am persuming diploma in IT please give me advise how i take admission in btech

Dear friend
You can get admission in 2nd year of B.Tech directly though some entrance exam of a particular college or university. The scheme of direct admission to 2nd year for diploma students is termed as LATERAL ENTRY.
There are a good no. of colleges that offer this admission through separate entrance exam for diploma holder students.
Some of the colleges are
Indraprastha University, New Delhi
SLIET
KIITS Orissa
Cochin University
Hindustan Institute of Technology
etc.
Apart from that there are many more colleges in southern region and Orissa that offer lateral entry through separate entrance test.

hii friend... yea sure you can get a btech IT admission in any of the good engineering college.... if you have scored 55% in your polytechnic diploma you can sure get admission in good colleges.........you can join directly in 2nd year B.TECH IT tat is called lateral entry.....okay you can get in any of the colleges you need to do ........

to get into the admission in btech after your diploma,you have to qualify a competative exam,which is JELET(JOINT ENTRACE LATERAL ENTRY TEST).

after qualifing it,you are called to attain the counsilling,and where you can choose your desire college according to your rank.

Every state has there own exam for the diploma students ,by which you can take admission in various engineering colleges in the 2 year directly.

For example West Bengal conducts the exam called JECA exam.apart from all this AIEEE also conducts for the diploma students.

you can take admission in btech 2nd year through lateral entry. Every state has their own lateral entry exam. You must give the exam and pass it with good marks to get admission in good college.

You can get Btech through the lateral entry test.For those who have completed 10+2 should have atleast 60% for admittance into Btech and clear AIEE to study in top universities. .

To get into BTech courses of IT you must answer few entrance tests like LEET,LEET-TU,Manipal,IPUCET,State CET etc

After you clear these entrance test whcih have 10% seats reserved for every branch then you will get admission directly into 2nd year for IT

So work hard for these entrance tests

It is very simple, Every university has its lateral entry procedure for diploma holder student as well as graduate student.
You get direct admission in 2nd year(3rd sem) through lateral entry scheme.
Otherwise you may get admission through management quota, but it will demand for some amount of donation.
some other universities conduct their personnel entrance test for admission in B.Tech(2nd year).
So better go for lateral entry in any good college/university.

i can tell you whats the procedure in the state of andhra pradesh,
there you have to write ecet exam and depending on the rank you will be given the college in central counseling,

Since you are doing diploma and you are interested in doing B.tech for further studies there is a simple procedure to apply for this course you just sit on the counselling conducted for diploma holders . After getting college in counselling you will be directly admitted in the second year.

Also in some colleges there is a process of direct admission also so you can apply in that way also.

you are pursuing diploma in IT.
sure you can get admission in b.tech directly in 2nd year as lateral entry.
there are so many engineering colleges which take admission as lateral entry .
so you can find them easily.

you can get btech admission after diploma in IT.

to get admission btech in IT, you have qualify a exam which is known as JELET(joint entrance lateral examination test).

you can appear in JETET exam after you diploma course.

but one things you should remember, through JELET you can't get chance in IITs.

Dont worry,u must get chance for admission in B.Tech in 2nd yr as LATERAL ENTRY in CSE or IT.

the related entrance exam,which is JELET(JOINT ENTRACE LATERAL ENTRY TEST).

But u cann't take admission in IIT through JELET.

It is not an issue at all.
All you need to do is just apply for the colleges directly that you are handy with.
trust me this is the best solution one of my friend from Govt. Polytechnic got
admission in similar way.

Colleges conduct an entrance exam(called as LATERAL EXAM), you may need to clear it.
And you will get into 2yr 1 sem directly.

Not just that you will have a benefit that many topics that you are familiar with
in Diploma, will again get repeated here onwards but many times they get deeper
into the subject. so study well.

after diploma if you want to take admission in b.tech

then you have to give lateral entry examination like west Bengal takes JELET exam for the admission of diploma students into b.tech.

but for admission into IITs you have to apper for IIT-JEE on 12th basis.

You have to give the state JEE and enter through lateral entry...directly you can enter 2nd year to college of your choice...according to you rank..

and iitjee gate through admission in b.tech second year.

for that you have to appear in lateral entry exam..

after that you can take admission in Btech 2nd year directly..

pardon, you are pursuing diploam in IT its good , and search in net in your area which college gives LATERAL ENTRY after diploma,
you whould have given you area, in whihc area you stay basically
i know some of colleges in pune which gives lateral entry

3.College of Engineering

you can join in engineering after IT but you have to write entrance exam.
all states in india conduct special exams for diploma students you have to attempt

your engineering study will continue from 2 year

State Govt. & Central Govt . conduct the special Entrance Exam for those who have Diploma & Graduate degree.


You can find these Entrance exams for higher Education...

Just apply for counselling which will takes place every year. If your marks are low, join in management quota.

B.Tech Admission after diploma course :

After completing diploma courses B.tech is the best career option for a

diploma holder. A diploma holder can take admission in direct 2nd year of

the B.Tech course by lateral entry examination. If you are pursing

diploma courses in the IT field then after completing diploma you can take

admission in B.tech in the related field i.e IT or computer science and

You can do b.tech after diploma through a scheme which is called lateral entry scheme and these
candidates are directly taken into 2nd year of b.tech and eventually for them the duration of engineering is 3 years but they have to study additional subjects.

The branches which have b.tech lateral entry are:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering
Computer Science & Engineering
Information Technology
Electronics & Electrical Engineering

For getting admission in B.Tech you should take the AIEEE exam.... through AIEEE you can get admission in B.TECH...
For further details of AIEEE you can check the site of CBSE i;e www.cbse.nic.in

Your rank should be very good in AIEEE, for getting admission in a good college.
for NIT your rank must be under 20000.

You can get admission in engineering directly after diploma.Its a very good

step to do engineering after diploma.There is so much scope for an engineer

so choose this option.After diploma you can get admission in any engineering

college based on the percentage of your diploma.So diploma percentage have

a very imporatant thing to get a good college after diploma.Many colleges

cunduct an entrance paper by which you can get admission in engg. college.
