Testing jobs are not bad and they pay you as much as any software development job. Morever,you get more onsite chances in testing profile.
And if you like to code,then it is better to go in automation testing.

If you have skills in Testing with experience you can get good package.Testing also have the package as developer will have.All you need is to acquire knowledge and skills with good experience.
