A candidate can join CBI as a sub inspector through combined graduate level examination. The Combined graduate level exam is conducted at the All India level every year by the Staff selection commission. This common entrance examination is conducted for the various departments like Income tax department, Intelligence bureau, Central bureau, Investigator etc.
The eligibility required for the Combined graduate level examination is given below :


Education Qualification
Candidate applying for the combined graduate level examination should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the SSC combined graduate level examination.

Age Limit
For the Central bureau of Investigation department for the post of sub inspector candidate age should be between 20-27 years. Relaxation in age is given to reserved category candidates as per the govt. norms.

Entrance examination
The entrance examination is conducted in 2 stages. Candidates qualify in the stage 1 examination will be called for the stage 2 examination. And the qualified candidates of stage 2 will be called for the interview test later.

Dear Aspirant,



The candidates are interested in this field has to be between a age group of 20-27 years.

The students are having a strict rule that they had to get a graduation from a recognized college or university.

The students are required to clear the exam conducted by the civil services board.

The notifications will be available in the official upsc website.

Where you can get all the latest notification for jobs and results and etc.

So you need to be in touch with that website so as soon as the notification appears you need to apply for it and get the exam written.

So after that only the students will be considered for the selection process or else they wont be selected.

After passing diploma course you are not eligible for Joining C.B.I/C.I.D.
If you want you can join after passing graduation with any stream.

After passing graduation with any stream you have to qualify the entrance exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission(S.S.C).

Eligibility for S.S.C EXAM:-
>> Pass graduation with any stream from recognized University.

>> Age limit is 21-30 year.
For ST/SC candidate 21-35 year.

> Only Indian Can apply in this exam.

CBI is an independent highest level investigating agency provided by our constitution in India.

It is teethed with enormous and innumerable powers in its investigations in all civil or

criminal cases assigned to it/taken up by it.

Thus CID (crime investigation department) becomes a part of the activities/duties of

the CBI.

The CBI report is vested with all privileges, including immunity even under the right to information act.

As per the CVC guidelines it is mandatory that when once any investigation is taken up
