The duration for CA course through CPT route after passing 12th is 5 years and 4 years for direct entry to IPCC course after B.Com. It takes 3 years to complete articleship training under CA programme. It includes period of 9 months of training before appearing for IPCC in the total duration of 3 years of articleship training.

It is important to complete Information Technology Training (ITT) and Orientation Program conducted by ICAI before starting Articleship.

Institute of Cost Accountants of India offers C.A. course.

C.A. stands for Chartered Accountant.

There are three stages in Chartered Accountancy course;

*Foundation course

*Intermediate course or IPCC, and

*Final Course.

To register for CPT,the candidate must have passed 12th class from any recognized board.

The candidate who have passed CPT can get admission for IPCC course. And, a Graduate student (B.com, B.Sc., BBA,etc) is eligible to join the IPCC course directly without appearing for CA-CPT Exam.

The eligibility criteria for the graduates to write IPCC directly is 55% for a Commerce Graduate and 60% for a Non-Commerce Graduate.

To register for final level, the candidate must have passed IPCC level and should have completed Articleship .

There is two process by which you can go for the CA course. Either you can go on the basis of 12th Marks or on the basis of B.Com Marks. But if you are going on the basis of 12th then you will have to clear any one of the mentioned exams for admission.

1- Common Proficiency Test (CPT) :
CPT is the first stage to go for CA course and its just a written test conducted to short-list candidates for next round. This exams will be of 200 marks and Minimum 100 marks is needed to clear this entrance exams.

2- Integrated Professional Competancy Test (IPPC) : This is another way to get admission in CA course. This changes was mad few years back. With the help of this exams a candidates can skip the CPT exam and seek direct admission in CA course through marks in IPPC exams.

Or if you are going on the basis of graduation degree then you will have to clear the second exam which is known as IPPC and the minimum eligibility the minimum percentage required for the IPPC to have 55% & if Candidates is from Non B.com Background then he/she should have 60% marks in his graduate course.

IPCC --- Integrated professional Competence course

>> There by you will have Information Technology Training (ITT).

>>Practical Training for 3 years

>> General Management and Communication skills

>> After completion all short term training you will have final examination.

CA stands for Chartered Accountancy course. Graduates and post graduates can directly apply for Integrated Professional Competence Course. But for direct IPCC, candidate must have minimum of 55% of marks in graduation.

*If you have 55% or more marks in Bachelor of commerce then you can directly apply for IPCC stage otherwise you will have to apply for Common Proficiency test and clear this exam.

*Duration of CA course after Bachelor of commerce is 3 and half years.
