How to enter in airforce?
i am very much interested for this.

There are two ways to join INDIAN AIR FORCE .

1, NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICES (NDA)

2, COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICES EXAMINATION. (CDSE)




ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA EXAM

1,Students who have passed 10+2 OR Equivalent qualification are eligible for applying in NDA.
BUT
If you have done your 12th with compulsory subjects maths and physics than you are
Eligible to apply in all the branches – NAVY,ARMY,AIR FORCE.
OR
If you have done your class 12th with commerce or art stream than you are eligible for
ARMY only.


2, Students age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

3, unmarried male candidate are eligibile to apply .


Selection Procedure

The process of selecting cadets for the National Defence Academy is divided into three stages :

• A written examination held by the Union Public Service Commission.

• An interview by the Service Selection Board to assess a candidate's officer potentialities ( Intelligence and personality test ).

• A medical examination by a Service Medical Board.
(you should be physically fit and you be able to fulfill the minimum physical fitness requirement set by service medical board for students applied for NDA)

CDSE selection process is of 3 stages:

1. Written Exam (conduct by UPSC)

2. SSB Interview ( CONDUCT by Services Selection Board).

3. Medical Test (conduct by SMB).

A person can become an officer in the Indian Air Force at one of four levels:

1. 10+2: (Direct entry) This level is for men only. All males who have completed their 12th standard may join the National Defence Academy and, once their training there is completed, enter the Air Force. Entry is through an exam conducted by the UPSC.

2. Graduate: Graduates can join any of the IAF's branches. Candidates who are shortlisted after selection undergo training at one of the IAF training institutes, after which they are commissioned and posted.

3. Engineer: An engineering student can join the technical branch of the IAF during his final or pre-final year through the University Entry Scheme.

4. Post-Graduate: A PG, depending on his degree, can join the IAF's Technical or Ground Duty branches. Favoured degrees include Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics etc.

IAF - Indian Air Force

This is one of the most esteemed Branched of the Indian Defense. The other two branches are Indian Army, and Indian Navy.

There are two entries in the Air Force through 3 exams :

UNDERGRADUATE :-- NDA 1 AND NDA 2

Graduate Level Entries :-- AFCAT AND CDS .

NDA is the National Defense Academy which is an exam conducted by the UPSC every year in April and August to select candidates right after class 12th. Age limits is 16.5 to 19 years.

AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test is another exam. Only final year graduation students and pre final year student can apply. The age limit is 21-25 years. Quantitative aptitude questions are put up.

CDS - Combined Defense Services is the one for the graduates. Its also conducted by the UPSC only and the age limit is 19 to 23 years for the Air Force ENTRIES.

So whichever entry you are eligible for, you can apply for that and take it up.

To join the indian air force first you crack the NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defence Service. This exam conducted by upsc twice in a year.

There is no minimum percentage required to eligible this exam.

The science stream candidates eligible for the indian air force and navy.

The age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

Girls are not eligible for this exam.

You can make an entry to Indian Air Force basically in three ways depending upon your eligibility criteria through:-

-NDA
-CDS
-AFCAT

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age with good Physical Fitness, is eligible to apply for Indian Air Force wing of NDA>

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) two times every year for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

To be eligible for Indian Air Force Academy of CDS, the candidate should have either completed Graduation Degree exam or has appeared from a recognised university with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or B.Tech. Graduate. He should be within the age of 19 to 23 years and must be an unmarried Indian male candidate. He should have possessed good Physical and Mental health.

The selection for both NDA and CDS are through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

AFCAT - AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST conducted by UPSC once every year for entry in to:-

-Flying Branch
-Technical Branch
-Ground Duty Branch of Indian Air Force

The candidate should have completed Graduation in any stream or with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60% marks from a recognised University and within the age 19 to 23 for Flying Branch, 18 to 28 for Technical Branch and from 20 to 23 for Ground Duty Branch is eligible to apply for AFCAT.

Apart from this the candidate must be an unmarried Indian male candidate.

The selection is through:-

Written exam
SSB Interview
Medical Test

Written exam is based on the subjects like:-

-Reasoning
-Verbal Ability
-General Awareness
-Numerical Ability
-General Aptitude

There are several groups under Indian air force.

To apply for Group X your minimum age should be 17 - 22 Years and minimum qualification required is Candidates should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2 with pass marks in Mathematics and Physics with a minimum of 50% marks in overall aggregate or Should have passed a 3 year Diploma course in Engineering. Then you will be eligible for the technical trades.

To apply for group "Y" one needs to be between 17 and 22 years and minimum qualification required is Candidates should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2 with science, arts, commerce subjects or equivalent vocational courses with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Then you will be eligible for all group Y trades except the musical trade.

To be eligible for the musical trade of group y you have to be between 17 and 25 years and minimum qualification required is Passed Matriculation/ 10th class passed or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Govt recognized school/Boards and should be proficient in playing one of the musical instrument.

One can join Air Force in technical,flying or ground branches. Eligibility criteria for different branches and education qualification are:
