GATE entrance is held once in year,to intake qualified students for post graduation course.This exam score is valid for 2 years.
Eligibility criteria for GATE-2012: Candidate should have complete graduation degree in B.E/B.Tech/Architecture/Statistical Course. Candidate being in final in above mentioned course can also eligible for this exam. Important dates for GATE-2012 exam: Issuing of application form from 12th Sep 2011 to 17th Oct 2011. Exam will held on 29th Jan 2012. |

If you are the graduate and the post graduate candidates in engineering, mathematics, computer application then you can apply for the GATE. But you should note one thing that you cannot apply if you are pursuing your degree.

Dear pal,
GATE is a national level aptitude exam conducted every year. There has been some changes brought out in the eligibility criteria from last year. The academic background with which you will be eligible to write includes 1.Bachelor degree in engineering and 2. Masters degree in the field of science and mathematics. 3. Only final year aspirants are eligible. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam. There is no restriction to the number of attempts for the exam. And the gate score is valid for two years. |

hi dear..... *The candidates should be a b. tech graduate from a recognize university. *There is no age limit bar you can do this at any time After your job also for better salary & a good post. TO crack this exam you have to prepare your self seriously there are so many books like.... as you have not mention about your stream it is difficult to answer . good luck..... |

The only criteria to appear in GATE is a valid degree in Engineering. No minimum percentage or age restriction is quoted.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones such that One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi)
The most important news in GATE-2012 is that Pre-final year student ca not appear in GATE 2012 exam. According to the Eligibility of the GATE: 1:You should have a Bachelor's degree holder in Engineering or Technology or Architecture or Pharmacy of 4 years after 10+2. 2:You can also apply if you are in the final year examination of the Bachelor Degree. or 3:You have to be a Master degree holders in any branch of Science like Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications etc.... 4:You can also apply if you are in the final year examination of the Master Degree. GATE is an examination conducted by the association of 7 IITs and the IISc, bangalore. They conduct it for the selection of students for their post graduation level. Based on your score, the institutes that you can get admitted into are:- 1. IITs 2. IISc 3. NITs 4. Other premier colleges including government colleges. ELGIBILITY CRITERIA 1. B.Tech pass-out or 4th year. 2. Masters in any branch of science, Maths, Statistics, computer applications. 3. Post Diploma/ Post B.Sc APPLYING:- The gate exam is applied online, by which you can get a challan and a form. you have to pay the required fees and send it along the printed form. PREPARATION :- You can either prepare for the exam yourself, or approach a coaching institute. REPUTED COACHING INSTITUTES ARE: 1.ACE ACADEMY, Hyderabad. 2. P.C THOMAS CLASSES,Thrissur. If you are preparing yourself, some of the good books that will help you are 1.MADE EASY Publication 2.Khanna publication. 3. G.K Publishers ( contains a little bit of mistakes). GATE exam paper pattern: The GATE examination is consists of a single paper of the three hours duration which contains the 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. Educational Qualification Required: =>>You can give this exam if you want to pursue M.Tech from the top notch universities in India. To give this exam it is very important to have a degree in engineering, technology or architecture. It is important to have minimum 55% of marks at graduation level. Final year students can also apply. =>>Those with a master's degree in science, mathematics, computer science or statistics are also eligible to give this exam. =>>There is no age limit as such. Exam Pattern: You can give this exam for three times maximum. Your GRE score will be valid for two years only. It is a tough exam to crack no doubt. GATE stands for GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING is an entrance exam for admission to M.Tech. Engineering courses in IITs, NITs, BITS etc. conducted by Indian Institute of Science and IIT Committee.
ELIGIBILITY FOR GATE:- -The candidate must be an Indian National -The candidate should have either appear for the final B.Tech. Engineering Degree exam or pass from a recognised University or have completed Master Degree in Mathematics/Physics/Statistics/Computer Application etc. There is no upper age restriction to apply for GATE. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The candidates will be given admission for M.tech. This exam will be conducted once in a year. You can apply for GATE exam you can satisfy the below eligibility criteria ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The candidate should be citizen of india. The candidate should have complete Graduation in Engineering which any stream. The Engineering courses are Electrical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Candidate who are pursuing final year of Graduation course in Engineering can also apply for this exam. Candidate who are pursuing pre final year of Engineering course are not eligible to apply for this exam. There is no age criteria to appear for this exam. One can apply for this exam at any age if he fulfill the required academic criteria. There is no limit on the number of attempts for GATE exam.
