CPT is Common Proficiency Test conducted for those who want to become Chartered Accountant.

You have to get at least 50% marks in the aggregate in all papers of CPT to qualify it.

The following subjects will be their in CA CPT:

-Fundamentals of Accounting

-Mercantile Laws

-General Economics

-Quantitative Aptitude

It will be an objective type paper. There will be two sessions of 200 marks each. Each session will be off 2 hours duration. There will be negative marking for wrong answers so be careful while attempting.

After qualifying CPT you can register for IPCC.

Integrated Professional Competence Course/Examination (IPCC/IPCE) contains following that you have to complete to get to the final stage.

-13 subjects arranged into two groups of 3 papers of 100 marks each.

-Practical Training (Articleship): You have to undergo 3½ years training (As an articled clerk with a practicing chartered accountant or as an audit clerk within the auditing department of an approved organisation).
