hello,I am Avinash.I am currently pursuing by Btech degree in mechanical engg.(final year).I want to prepare for cds and want to join indian airforce.So I need help in preparing for this exam.How should i prepare for it and suggest me good books for this exam.

Well CDS examination is conducted twice a year generally in may and october
for selection officers directly for
IMA,Dehradoon
OTA
Airforce Academy ,Begumpet
Naval Academy,Goa
The pattern of examination is well known.
The paper consists of objective type questions in
ENGLISH,GK, Elementary Mathematics.
FOR IMA and INA and Airforce Academy .. you have to appear for each of the above in
separate papers of 2 hrs duration each having 100 marks .. for OTA you do not need to appear for Maths.
In addition selected candidates also have to appear in Interview and medical examination.
BOOKS:: Refer to R.S. Aggarwala books and Arun sharma books

You join the Indian Air force after graduation, by
appearing for the CDS exam.

The CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.

Eligibility:

Unmarried male and female candidates can apply.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates applying must be a graduate in any discipline.
Final year students may also apply.

As you want to apply for the Air Force, therefore,
you must have Maths and physics as your compulsory
subjects at 10+2.

If you did not have physics and maths, you cannot apply for the Air Force.
However, you can still apply for the Army.

Age Limits:

For Air Force Academy:19-23 years of age.

Combined Defence service examination is conducted twice in year.
This exam is conducted by the UPSC. To apply for this examination

For the Combined Defence exam candidate should be graduate.
For Indian Air force and Navy candidate should have physics
and maths at 10+2 level.
Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to
apply for the CDS examination.

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years

Through CDSE(Combined Defense Services examination)-

Qualification required- Any graduate degree/BE/B Tech degree and having passed Physics and maths in class 12th.

Age limit- 19-23 years

Month of exam- It is conducted twice a year. In the month of April and September.

be prepare for those books properly then you have chances for CDS exam.

you can apply to cds while you are in your 4 year of your engineering .c.d.s is the exam which only requires the grdauate candidate with any stream
and yes your aggregate percentage should be to 60 percent

what is the medical test in CDS???. what is the eligibility to pass in this test????

I HAVE DONE THREE YEAR DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGG AFTER 10TH CLASS.THEN I HAVE DONE B.TECH IN MECHANICAL.CAN I APLY FOR INDIAN AIR FORCE.I HAVE NOT DONE 12TH THAT IS WHY I WAS NOT HAVING PHYSICS AND MATHS AT 10 2.PLEASE SUGGEST AND ALSO TELL THE AGE REQUIRED TO APPLY.

you want to appear IAS exam minimum eligibility a batch degree from

recognized university and you must have attained the age of 21 years not be

over 30 years of age as on 1st August, 2011. And final years students also

eligible.according to the government of india rules general category candidate

can appear 4 times only,OBC can appear 7 times and SC & ST candidate have

no limit for appearing and the forms available in all the designated post office

across the country.
