Sir, now i am a B.Sc 1st year student. I want to join Indian Air force via CDS so i knidly request for an in depth advice for me?

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service and the examination is conducted by UPSC twice every year.

The examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates in Defence services ( Air Force, Army, Navy,IMA etc.).

The age limit varies for different service and for recruitment in Air Force required eligibility is candidate must have passed bachelor degree in Mathematics or Physics or have B.tech/B.E. The age limit to appear for examination is 19-23 years.

-CDS Exam is conducted by UPSC every year, Written test is followed by SSB interview, only if you have cleared this exam you will be posted in Defence. CDS Exam is conducted twice in a year in the month of February and August.

Exam Pattern:
-Preliminary Exam- General Studies. Numerical Aptitude, General Knowledge.
-OTA exam for Officer Training Academy.

Criteria:
-Eligible age limits 19-23 yrs,
-Educational qualifiaction- B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engg.
-You have to get at least 60% in your academics and all UPSC norms goes positive with this exam too.

Being a first year B.Sc student, you are not eligible to join Air Force through CDS examination. To be eligible to appear in CDS examination, you must have to satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must have completed Graduation degree from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics subjects at 10+2 level.

3. You must be in between 19-24 years of age.

4. You must be Physically fit as per Physical standards mentioned in the UPSC CDS examination notification.

Since, you have not completed your B.Sc. course, I suggest you to complete your B.Sc. course, so, that you are eligible to appear in CDS examination for joining in Air Force.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services. This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice every year. Through this exam, you can join any three wings of defence like Navy, Army and Air Force. You can joining any wing of defence by cracking written test and Service Selection board.

The eligibility criteria for joining Indian Air Force through Combined Defence Services is:

>>Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering. Graduation in physics or mathematics is necessary for this exam to join Indian Air Force.

>>The age limit for Indian Air Force is 19-23 years.

>>Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply for this exam.

You can apply for this exam in final year of engineering.

You can join Indian Air Force through CDS exam but you need to make sure that you are pursuing B.Sc with maths or physics as a main subject. If you are not studying maths then you will be only eligible for Indian Army.
Make sure that you are prepared for written exam and SSB interview well in advance. Selection is on merit and only good candidates get chance to join. Physical fitness is of prime importance and you should have the fitness according to the rules.
