I have also attended for ICICI PO selection procedure and gone through the rounds of
Group Discussion
Interview

In the Group Discussion, they are going to provide scenario for the candidates. It will consist of 2-3 pages.

They will give 5 minutes of time to understand the scenario.

Once the give time was over, you have to close the papers and you have to discuss on that.

The discussion will be like what you are going to do if you are there in that situation.

You have to share your views and thoughts of what you will do in that scenario and you have to explain why you have shared your views in such a way.

In this way, they will conduct your thought process, attitude and the way how you are framing the sentences.

In the Interview, the questions will be on

-Self Introduction
-Reason for joining to ICICI
-Banking Terminology
-Your academic projects etc.

Have good preparation for these aspects to perform well.

For the Group Discussion and Interview, here are some keynotes that will surely route you towards your success.

1. For GD, you are required to have good and efficient communication skills. Be confident and clear while you speak and about what you speak.

2. You need to have knowledge about the topic. So to be knowledgeable, read good newspapers, magazines. Keep aware yourself about your surroundings.

3. Develop critical thinking and analysis skills in you. You are required to have good decision making capabilities.

4. Maintain eye contact with team members and selectors while speaking.

5. Try to initiate a GD if you have a good point to make it. It is not at all compulsory to always initiate a GD if you don’t have any knowledge about the topic.

6. Don’t interrupt while another member is speaking. Wait for your chance to speak if you have a better point of it.

7. You are required to be a good listener that will come when you will silently listen to others.

8. Don’t sit dumb. Be open-minded and optimistic.

9. You need to be gentle and polite with your team members.

10. Don’t deviate from the discussion topic through the views put forward by you. If possible, try to make discussion to concentrate on to the given topic.

For the preparation of Interview, You need to practice the above point. You need to be interactive. You must have knowledge about general banking terms, management skills, positive attitude, and confidence that should come out with every word you speak in a cheerful manner. Don’t be nervous at all. Sit straight. Don’t play with pen/pencil to hide your nervousness. Answer in sensible way. Try not to over-speak about anything. Preserve relevancy to the questions in your answers.
