There is no particular limit or rule of scoring the 96% marks with the duration of studies. I think that you should go with the maximum duration you can study not as pressure but as enjoying the study. You will score better.

I think you should go with the NCERT books of each of the subject and keep revising regularly. In case of Mathematics there is the need of some preference books practice. So you can do this.

So you have to work as much as you can and rest leave for the future and your luck about how much you score above 96% or not. But try to give minimum of 5-6 hours of self study.

Go through the previous year question paper which will benefit you in speed of solving the questions.
