i am one of the faculty of an engineering college. at 3rd b.tech, i feel, students with industrial expore will do well for their projects in final year. i do not know how to approach to industries. my discipline is electronics and communication engineering. it will be highly helpful to suggest a procedure or any consultancy for that. i doubt as number of colleges are more , wehether a company may be private/government all have a headache of entertaining students for this sake.

there is no need of any consultancy ,
as you are faculty thenyou just have to contact to your nearest companies either Government or Private.
in government you have to contact to HR department
And in private sector you have to contact career section officers.
for ECE students there are so many companies available in private as well as govt. sector , few are listed bellow:

Industrial visit is easy to arrange. Officially you need to convey them either verbally or in writing that you want to visit for the day and your expectations.
I you know someone in that company who is working at good position, it would be add on.
Also try to find the alumni of your college working at various positions, in various company. Contacting them would surely help you.
