It is an entrance exam for getting admissions into MBA
it is a 3 hour computer based test conducting on reasoning skills like reading comprehension, critical reasoning and Aptitude.
the test is like similar to a BITSAT . U need to choose the exam dates.
the test may be probably Oct-Nov
U can get the notification from IIT's

Information About CAT Examination -

CAT Entrance examination was conducted by Indian Institutes of Management.

And If you want to get admission in top MBA Colleges like IIM's OR any other top Business Schools then for this you have to apply for CAT examination.

CAT examination was held only 1 Time in a year, the examination was held in the month of November every year and the notification was declared in the month of August, The notification was updated in the CAT official website.

So, If you are interested to get admission in MBA Course, then you must have to apply for CAT examination, And to appear for the CAT examination you need to Purse your graduate degree course in any discipline.

So, To apply for CAT examination You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university, There is no age restriction to apply for CAT examination. Final year graduate Candidates are also eligible to apply for CAT examination.

If you have scored good percentile in CAT examination, then you are eligible to appear for Group Discussion and Interview Session and after passing the GD and Interview round you will get admission in MBA in IIM's. Eligible candidates may apply for CAT examination Online. The fee of CAT examination was Rs 1400 But if you belong to the SC/ST category then you can pay a discounted fee of Rs 700.

To apply for MBA you have to sit for CAT held all over India.

CAT(Common Admission Test) is the most toughest entrance exam in India by IIMs for MBA.

To get admission in IIMs, you have to score 99% in CAT.

Then only you will get admission in IIMs.

The admission for 2011 is over.

It took place from 27th oct,2010-24th nov,2010.

Dear friend,
Common Aptitude Test which is better known as CAT is conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) every year.
If you are willing to persue MBA in top business schools like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, NITIE Mumbai, then CAT is must for you.
Except the above mentioned top B-schools, 150+ other institutes also accept CAT score.
As in today's time MBA is highly demanding course, CAT is also highly competitive. Entering into IIM is a dream for every MBA aspirants.
Minimum qualification to write CAT is to have 50% marks in bachelor's degree from a recognised University.
On the basis of CAT result shortlisted candidates are called for GD and PI.
To do well in CAT you need a strategic plan from the begining. Work hard and write as much as possible mock tests. This exam is conducted online. So, you also need to adapt yourself in the online mode of exam.

CAT Entrance examination is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management every year only once to select students for various IIM's.IIM's are one of the best colleges in India and students who study here generally get higher packages then other MBA colleges.Some of IIM's are ::

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A)
Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM C) @ Kolkatta
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM B)
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM L)
Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM I)
Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM K - Calicut)

Hence CAT is the only way to get admission to these colleges .CAT examination is held only once in a year in the month of November every year and the notification gets declare in the month of August.

i will not going the cat tution becoz there fees are very high but

Detail of CAT Examination:

CAT Entrance examination is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management and if you want to get admission in best MBA colleges then you have to crack this examination & have to get good rank.

CAT exam helds every year in the month of November every year and the notification is declared in month of August, notification is updated in CAT's official site.

CAT - Common Admission Test, conducted by IIM(Indian Institute of Management) for admission to 2 years MBA(Master of Business Administration) course in IIMs.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream with 50% marks(45% marks for SC/ST candidate) from a recognised University. There is no upper age restriction for application to CAT.

There is also no restriction on number of attempts to CAT.

CAT exams are conducted by IIM each year

Eligibilty to apply for the CAT exams is:
Graduation pass in any stream with minimum 50% marks for General and OBC candidates and minimum 45% marks for the SC/ST candidates.
Final year Graduation students can also apply

CAT exams are normally held in Month of October and November.
Exams are held in online mode only

To get calls from IIM, you have to get atleast 98 percentile marks in the CAT written tests

After this you would be called by IIM for the next rounds that is Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

The Full Form Of CAT is Common Admission Test. This test is conducted as the toughest amongst all the examinations every year.
