You can write CAT exam only once in a year. The CAT exam pattern is such that it tests candidates ability to solve problems fast and based on reasoning and analytical skills which is required in today's business environment. The paper consists of following sections. 1. Quantitative Ability 2. Data Interpretation. 3. English (Verbal/Reading Comprehension) |

to be well prepared for CAT entrance examination first of all you must be strong in english vocabulary. Reading newspapers is an excellent resource to keep your vocabulary updated and up to the mark.
then go through the previous year CAT question papers to make an overview of the question standard. prepare for group discussion and personal interview after the online examination. try to collect some good study material for CAT. for this you may join in any good coaching institution for CAT. they will provide you some study material, model question papers, suggestion papers and also some mock test which are very much helpful. so you may go for coaching institution. the eligibility criterion for CAT examination is For applying to the CAT, a candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST or Persons with Disability], of any of the Universities or Institutes recognized by the UGC or the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must be of minimum three years duration after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates in their final year of graduation/ equivalent qualification and those who have completed the exams and are awaiting results are also eligible for the CAT 2010. They must produce a certificate from the Principal / Head of the Department/ Registrar/ Director of the University / Institution certifying that he / she is currently in the final year awaiting final results. The CAT 2011 notification is expected in the month of July/August 2011. best wishes. |

Re: How to prepare for CAT entrance exam? How many times in a year CAT exam can be written?
Hi,
CAT is now a online entrance test for admission into the IIM's and other premier B- School in India. It's conducted once a year and in generally in the month of Oct- November. If you are seriously looking to crack CAT then probably this is the best time for you to start preparation. To start off with, start solving your Class X and XII maths book for a Quant and read regularly English newspaper to get a good command over English. It is recommended to read the editorial section properly and write jist of it on your own, this will come handy to solve long reading comprehension passages in CAT also will make you grammatically strong. After you finish off with your Class X and XII maths book, probably by April join a good coaching institute in your city and start the proceeding from there. It is suggested to finish off your institute study material by July/August and start talking Online tests that will give you a feel of real CAT and also will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. Analysis and review of the test given is of Vital importance, these will help you identify what went wrong and how also will help you to understand the concepts well. Students who are aim for big B- School always aim for at least 1 test in a week from July/August and then increase it to 2/3 from September. In case you need further assistance regarding online material, and free mock test series let me know the same will be provided. Best Wishes!!! |

Re: How to prepare for CAT entrance exam? How many times in a year CAT exam can be written?
Hi,
The CAT entrance test will be conducted in Oct-Nov months. So it is good to prepare for this every day by using some pre planned process. Here mainly you need to concentrate on Quant and English. If your are good at Quant keep a light practice on it and work on English, most of the time by reading magazines and different articles. Along with this you need a determination to get that CAT |

I think mock tests are the best way to prepare for CAT. analysis of mock tests is as important as giving them.
www.chalobolo.com is a good place to give free mock cat tests |

Re: How to prepare for CAT entrance exam? How many times in a year CAT exam can be written?
Hi
First year is too early to start for CAT exam. Better concentrate on your graduation. Graduation marks also has a weightage in MBA admission. and if by any chance you are not able to make it to good MBA college, good graduation marks would atleast get you a decent job. I would advice you to join CAT coaching class in your pre final year. 2 year of time is very good for CAT preparation. Coaching classes would take 1 year and would cover the entire CAT syllabus. During next year you can revise everything studied and appear for various mock test before appearing for CAT exam. In this way you would complete your entire syllabus with revision. CAT exams are conducted only once every year. They provide few dates and venues, and candidates have to choose from them appear for CAT. This year CAT exam from 16th October to 11th November. A candidate can appear for CAT as many time as he/she wants. All the best |
