I want to attend upsc ias exam now I am 33 old my cast is Jain digambar please tell me am I eligible to the exam, am I obc or general,

First of all I am sorry to inform you that Jain Digambar or Shwetambar comes under Minority class but still are in General category only.

IAS Age limit for various category is as follows -


General category - 32 Years
OBC Category - 35 Years
SC and ST Category - 37 Years
PWD Category - 42 Years

Jain Digambar is cast that falls under general category. Hence, your result will fall under general category. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services Exam which is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

No, Jain Digambar is not OBC. Both Jain Digambar and Sethambar are considered to be minority but in general quota. There is no age relaxation or reserved quota provided for Jain Digambar. You need to take the examination as a general candidate.

The Indian Administrative Service examination is conducted by UPSC. The exam is conducted once every year.

The eligibility criteria for IAS are-

Age of the general candidates should be between 21-32 years.
For SC/ST candidates age is 21-37 years.
For OBC candidates age of the candidates should be 21-35 years.

The candidates should be Indian citizen.

The candidates should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There is no minimum marks required.

Final year candidates can also apply for the examination.

Maximum number of attempts-

General Candidates: 6
SC/ST Candidates: No limitation
OBC Candidates: 9.
