Following are the cut off score in GATE exam for becoming eligible for all over India Engineering college:

--General:25

--OBC: 22.5

--SC/ST/PwD: 16.67

**But this is only the cut off score.. If you want to get admission in IIT or NIT's then you have to score at least 45+ marks in GATE exam..

GATE is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This entrance exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology every year for master's degree programme in technology. GATE scores serves as an important basis for recruitment in top Public Sector Undertakings of India.

It is an objective online exam of 100 marks consisting of 65 questions. Any candidate who has done bachelor's degree in technology or engineering or master's degree in science can appear for this exam.

The GATE score is accepted by almost all engineering colleges for M.Tech course. IITs, NITs, IIITs, government engineering colleges, private university and colleges accept GATE score.

The cut off GATE exam varies every year and is different for different streams. Generally it is between 20-30 marks for general category candidates. You must try to score at least 70 % that is 70 marks out of 100 then you will eligible for getting admission in any engineering college for M.Tech course from IITs to private engineering colleges.

Those who qualify GATE are eligible for scholarship if they opt for admission in M.Tech from an AICTE approved college. There are top colleges like IITs and NITs for which you need a very good GATE score.

The cut off score varies according to the kind of stream and your category. If you have score of 90 percentile and above then you have chance of getting admission in a top engineering college.

Sir, Gate cutoff marks vary from year to year. If you see gate cutoff marks in 2014 is 26and that of 2015 is 33. It will vary from year to year. so, we can not expect cutoff marks

Previous year cut-off score is different for all streams which are as follows:

1. For ECE - General 25, OBC 22.5, SC/ST/PWD 16.67

2. For CS - General 25, OBC 22.5, SC/ST/PWD 16.67

3. For ME - General 32.73, OBC 29.46, SC/ST/PWD 21.82

4. For EE - General 25, OBC 22.5, SC/ST/PWD 16.67

5. For IN - General 25.45, OBC 22.9, SC/ST/PWD 16.96

6. For CE - General 25, OBC 22.5, SC/ST/PWD 16.67

7. For CH - General 27.52, OBC 24.77, SC/ST/PWD 18.34

8. For BT - General 26.08, OBC 23.47, SC/ST/PWD 17.39

If the candidate will secure more than the cut off then he/ she is eligible to apply for all India engineering colleges based on his score.
