A candidate can apply for the Air force common admission after the completion of their graduation. This exam is conducted by the Indian Air force twice in a year for the selection of candidate as an officer in various branches of Indian Air force such as FLYING BRANCH, TECHNICAL BRANCH and GROUND DUTY BRANCH.

Also candidate should not have scored less then 60% marks in their graduation. No relaxation in marks is given to any category candidates. In the FLYING branch only the engineering students are eligible.

Examination Pattern
The AFCAT examination is of 100 marks and 3 marks are given to candidate for every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
In the AFCAT examination following topics are asked by the candidates.

I have attached some previous year papers of AFCAT examination with this thread. You can download these papers from the below link:

AFCAT is Air Force Commom Entrance Test.

It will be of 2 hours with multiple choice of questions, and the sections are:

1. Reasoning
2. Numerical ability
3. Verbal ability (English)
4. General Awareness, GK
5. General Aptitude

The number of questions would be around 100+..

It is advisable not to but any extra books for preparing AFCAT....

Because the syllabus of AFCAT is same as other competitive exams like MCA entrances, Bank PO, LIC etc...

So follow the entrance exam books of those exams and you can easily crack AFCAT.

But if you want to buy a book on AFCAT only, then I would suggest you:

How many students are applying and appearing the Afcat exam every year among them how many hav got the seat,
How many students are there for one job.
