Re: Lateral entry to MBBS after B.Sc(nursing)?
Both the streams are different. You will not be eligible for the lateral entry scheme. You will need to appear for the entrance exam. For most exams there is a maximum age limit of 22 years. You need to check the eligibility criteria before applying.

I am sorry to say that after passing B.Sc Nursing you are not eligible for M.B.B.S through Lateral Entry If you want to join M.B.B.S then have to qualify the entrance exam. For Admission in top M.B.B.S college you have to qualify the entrance exam like:- > A.I.I.M.S > A.F.M.C > J.I.P.M.E.R > A.I.P.M.T > B.H.U-P.M.T > C.P.M.T etc ALL THE BEST! |

Re: Lateral entry to MBBS after B.Sc(nursing)?
A common mistake people make is that they think MBBS and B.Sc Nursing course have something in common. On such merit they believe it is perhaps possible to take lateral entry admission in MBBS.
Unfortunately it is not the case. There is no lateral entry admission in MBBS after B.Sc Nursing because there is huge difference in both the courses. Therefore you should also keep in mind that having completed Nursing course you will not get any upper hand while pursuing MBBS. The bottom line here is that while MBBS can be taken after B.Sc Nursing, you can't do so through lateral entry. In India, MBBS course is not offered through lateral entry. Neither the course completed through lateral entry is acceptable to Medical Council of India. Therefore even if some college offers such admission, please avoid since this course is not offered through lateral entry. While you are eligible for the MBBS course, it is not recommeded to pursue it after Nursing course. What is the point of doing it anyway. BY doing so, you will make one degree irrelevant. At the end of the day you can either get job of doctor or nurse. If you decides to become doctor then hard work of last 4 years in completing the B.Sc Nursing will go down the drain. The MBBS is 5 and half years course. You will be spending another good part of your life studying if decided to pursue MBBS. It is far better to pursue post graduation in nursing or perhaps a job in government hospital. You can also apply for the job in some Public Sector Undertakings that hire nurses and offer promotion throughout the course of job. But if you are still insisting on doing MBBS then appear for the NEET entrance exam. If you cleared it only then you can apply for the MBBS course. NEET Eligibility 1. Your subjects in 12th should be Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th. 3. 17 years is minimun age to apply. 4. The upper age limit is 25 years. 5. Another 5 years relaxation for OBC/SC/ST. 6. There is no upper age limit for State Quota Seats. |
