i am curently waiting for my PGDCA result from NEHU Shillong. can i get lateral admission in Pondicherry University or any other Universities in Kolkata. i had maths in class 12 commerce and i graduted with a 39% Simple Pass in BCom(H). Can i get any lateral admission for the course of MCA in Pondicherry University or any other Universities.

Pondicherry University has set forth eligibility for MCA as minimum of 55% marks in Graduation with Maths/Statistics as one the subjects and its entrance exam was conducted on 30.5.2010,

Dear friend,

If you want to take admission in Pondicherry University or any reputed university in west bengal, then you must score at least 55% in your graduation with maths as compulsory subject.

As you have scored less than 55% in your graduation, there is a little chance for admission in Pondicherry university.

Maximum universities conduct entrance tests for admission in MCA course. So you have to qualify the minimum criteria of appearing in those tests.

But don't get disheartened, find out some other institutes instead. You may get a lateral entry to those institutes.

hii friend ... i don think that pondicherry university are offering lateral entry for mca.... i havent heard about it in any university hope it wil come in future... but i'll my friends and let you know soon okay.......if not you can try for some private institutes

So sorry to say that you can not take admission as the lateral entry student's sheme ,for the exact information you can visit the official website of the Pondicherry university..

Hello dear,Yes. you can join in pondicherry university in Obc category or through CENTAC , you can join in other colleges.

You are eligible to do MCA. It is good to have maths. Whether you have mathematics or not that is going to affect your MCA admission.
You 100% eligible to do MCA if you have scored minimum 50% marks in BCA.
If you don't have 50%, you may not be eligible (Exception for reservation candidates -45%).

Lateral entry Test is for the diploma holder students to get admission in proper degree course. The eligibilty criteria is given below:

1. One should have the diploma in that field. As you want to get admission for MCA then you should pass out the PGDCA first. If result is

awaited, then also you can apply.

2. Maximum Age Limit:

a) 21-30 years for general category.

b) 21-33 years for OBC candidates.

c) 21-35 years for SCs/STs.
