Re: Are the Lawyers gazetted officers?
A government employee is termed as gazetted officer when his appointment is mentioned in gazette issued by Indian Government. When a lawyer is appointed by gazette notification of Government of India, he will be a gazetted officer. Lawyers appointed by government as pleader, notary, prosecutor are gazetted officers.
But when a lawyer does his private practice then he is not a gazetted officer. |
