Basically you want to work in some government company after completing graduation. In that case you will have to apply for job in Public Sector Undertaking.

Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) is the term used for companies controlled by the government. These companies have government as majority stakeholder. You can apply for job in these companies.

These companies belong to various fields like power generation, roads, telecommunication etc. Due to the nature of work, these companies require engineering graduates.

To hire Engineering graduates, each company conducts entrance exam. There is separate entrance exam for each of the company. The PSU issues notification regarding the exam based on its requirement.

There is a written test and interview in the entrance exam. However some companies have replaced written test with GATE score. Therefore it is also necessary to appear for GATE as well. You can appear for the exam during final year of B.Tech course.

You should see the notification of each Public Sector Undertaking and check whether there are any vacancies for the Electronics and Communication Engineers. Only if there are, you should apply for the entrance exam.


Eligibility

1. You should have completed B.Tech degree.

2. 60 percent marks in B.Tech are required.

3. You will have to clear pending backlogs before applying.

4. GATE score is required in some cases.

5. Age should be 21 to 30 years of the candidate to appear.

6. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC applicant.

7. SC/ST can claim 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.

First of all I would like to appreciate your desire towards the government sector that is public sector .

But for joining the public sector you need to have following eligibility criteria :

>>Bachelor's degree in engineering /technology with at least 60% for some PSUs and 65 for some others.

>>After completion of your bachelor's degree in electronics and communication ,you need to appear for the GATE that is Graduate Aptitude test in engineering as in the recent days PSUs recruit candidates on the basis of GATE score .

>>So you need to have good GATE score in order to be in it.You can also give this exam during your final year.

>>You should be between 21-30 years for the Public sector undertakings.
