Re: M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering after B.tech. in Biotechnology?
Heyy pal , Congratulations !!!!
I don't find any reason for leaving chemical engineering from MNIT , jaipur .. It is a nascent institute of national importance as it is an NIT ( national institute of technology ) which is heavily funded from govt. You need nor to worry for placements after pursuing the course as it offers 100% with average salary of 3.5 lac per annum . After doing biotech you might not get a job but after joining the MTech program at MNIT in CHEMICAL ENGINEERING , there is nothing to think about that but you need to work very hard as the competetion is becoming tougher and tougher .. Don't hesitate in chosing it , just go for it ... Regards <satish> |

Re: M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering after B.tech. in Biotechnology?
Dear you are lucky that you have got it, because its not easy to find admission in MNIT and having B.Tech (Biotech) at bachelor level.
Dont worry for it you are going right Chemical Engineering is one of the Core engineering branch with promising oppurtunities in India. And after completing you M.Tech you will have perfect blend of Biotech + Chemical Engineering. Never worry about Placement MNIT is among the one of Reputed NIT's of India. Students generally think that Chemical Engineering is al about Chemistry, but fact is that Chemical Engineering is a branch which has only 30% chemistry and rest is MAthematics and Physics and since you are going for M.Tech you would also have at least 1 Management subject related to your branch. Best of Luck Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

There are many options for you. You can do M.tech and also you can do MBA if you want and i will say you to go for MBA instead of M.Tech as now a days there is much scope in MBA. Think and then go forward for it. best of luck. |

Re: M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering after B.tech. in Biotechnology?
Hello friend,
If you are thinking that biotechnology doesn't have the potential to fetch you a satisfying job and a sucessful career, you must give it a second thought. You might not know that in the coming few years, more than hundred foreign firms are planning to outsource research and development jobs in India, which means, that there is going to be huge demand of biotechnologists in near future. It doesn't means that there is no scope for chemical engineers, but you have been learning biotechnology since years, and this is the time to take it to another level to enhance your knowledge. Once you become proficient in this field, success will never be too far. |

Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is undotedly one among the top
engineering colleges in India. They have high education standards. MNIT also promises excellent campus placements with starting salary hovering round 4/5 lakhs. So far so good, but unless you have real passion for this field, I'would not advise you to go for this. You may rather go for higher studies in Biotech. |
