Re: Maharashtra Engineering Colleges Admission Procedure and Forms
Dear Vijayeta
The admission to the Maharashtra Engineering Colleges is taken on the basis of entrance examination named MHT-CET. This year this entrance examination is scheduled to be held on 6th may 2010 and the last date of submission of application was 25th march. So, this year you won't be able to apply to the Maharashtra Engineering colleges through MHT-CET 2010. If your daughter has taken the AIEEE examination then she can apply to some of the(mostly private colleges) on the basis of AIEEE score. There use to be a good percentage of total seats (generally 15-25%) for AIEEE. You can directly apply to the colleges on the basis of AIEEE score. There more than 100 engineering college in Maharashtra so the details of each is difficult to display here. So, I would suggest you to Please visit the colleges' website for all queries regarding admission, fee detail, courses available etc. The list of all the engineering colleges in Maharashtra can be obtained at the following web addresses. http://www.indiaedu.com/maharashtra/colleges/engineering/ http://www.educationinfoindia.com/engg/maharashtraeng.htm Thank You Good Luck |

Re: Maharashtra Engineering Colleges Admission Procedure and Forms
dear,
if you have the domicile of maharashtra then only your daughter will be eligible for the admission in mumbai university colleges or any other college ion maharashtra...... all you have to do is to apply for MHT CET exam ....... the exam has no negative marking and so it is generally considered easier than any other engg exam.... visit the following website for more details :- http://www.dmer.org/vol.htm after the result are declared .....the counseling for college is online .... they are called as CAP rounds......there are total three round ......and so the details will be provided to you before the counseling...... best of luck |

Re: Maharashtra Engineering Colleges Admission Procedure and Forms
Is the domicile rule made applicable only from current year ie., 2010? Sir my daughter has studied here from 2nd Standard of her career... I do not have a ration card either, and we are on transferable bank jobs and hence did not worry about Ration cards... Where do we go for admissions, if such rules are erratically changed from year to year and make us run around from pillars to post? Is there any possibility of changing the rules... pl help Sir. My daughter has appeared for CET and also has secured 85 per cent under CBSE syllabus

Re: Maharashtra Engineering Colleges Admission Procedure and Forms
This is rediculous. Every eligible candidate should have free and equal opportunity for addmission to any engineering college of choice based on performance and not on regional bias. The regional bias is deterimental for country's progress at large. The addmission process should be purely based on merit and not on regional considerations. The congress government must wakeup on the issue and remove the controvercial clause of sons of the soil..

Quote:
She will need a domicile certificate issued by Taluk office near your home in Maharashtra. It is a tedious procedure to get especially if you are a non- maharashtra person. Now there is a big rush at Taluk offices, more so due to the Census work going on now. I suggest you apply to your original state also, if it is not too late. Otherwise dont worry, let her take drop, study well for next years CET in your own state, as well as AIEEE. Another parent |

Re: Maharashtra Engineering Colleges Admission Procedure and Forms
Usually for getting ad,ission to amahrashtra engineering college.students have to go through MHTCET entrance exam...which requires candidates domicile while admission. If the candidate qualifies..he is called for counseling and then colleges are alloted on the basis of your marks.
But there are colleges here, private ones.which intake students on the basis of their 12th standard pcm aggregate and there are also 15% quota is available for aieee candidates in all the colleges of the state. |
