Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
Hi,
M Sc Biotechnology after B Sc is a good option. You can be well verse in your domain. At the same time, in India I don't think you can start your career with your dream salary. of course it is a good industry, but as of now it is not developed fully. Very few companies are available in India and openings are also very limited. MBA- a good employee who had passionate about business can take. You may not get a start with your domain, but you can come back to this. I would suggest you to take a decision based on your interest and feasibility of your financial support. Regards, Rajasekar |

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
If you are just looking at a job then MBA may be a better option as you can have a wider range of options, but if you need to have a career in bio technology for Msc program and then do Phd. Lots of good universities abroad and if you can crack one of them you could be working in some of the top notch laboratories...

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
Well .......I dont think MBA after BSc.Biotechnology (hons.) in the same field will be very much rewarding. If you are keen to do MBA then pls go for the general course as it has more options in the market then MBA in biotechnology. And similarly if you heve great interst in this field, then pursue MSc. it will be more rewarding then MBA in this field.
So, i would suggest you to give yourself some time to understand the prospects of this courses before getting into it. |

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
MBA from a good college will definitely provide you with a better job as compared to msc biotech but take decisions based on your interest and not on money....there is no point doing in MBA just for the sake of money....If you are interested in msc biotech then go for it...may be for 1st few years you might not get very good salary and other things u dream of..but certainly u will get them in few years as your interest in job will take you to the top of the ladder.....

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
dear friend
the choice of specialisation depends on your personality, talent and skills. So, go with what you like, if you wish a career working on further research oriented work in a biotech related industries, then go for M.sc and You can later do PhD for higher research studies and better profile. if you wish to handle management work looking after many aspects of business in a biotech firm, marketing, sales, hr, finance, operations etc. then go for MBA. |

dear annuradha,
msc. will be good for you if you want to make your career in research field but if u want to have a good packages than you must go for mba. since pursuing msc. won't fetch u a good package but it depends upon one's interest. and by doing mba. you won't get jobs in technical field at all . you will get job in management field only. so, if package is the only criteria than u must do mba. best of luck !!!!! |

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
Look dear as you are already involved in biotech i think you should stick to it.I think MBA will be totally alien to you because as you are doing or done with biotech.I think you better opt for M.Sc not to MBA, but even if you still insist to go for MBA better go for marketing because its generally related to market strategy so as you are done with B.Sc biotech and if you do MBA marketing then it might turn out to be fruitful, because suppose you are being recruited in a biotech firm or a company they will first see your qualification and what can you give to company so as you have degree in biotech and along with it you have MBA marketing degree then the company will give you jobs first the development of that product as well as marketing it. So from here you are distinct from other and can earn big bucks by having this two qualification.
I think you got my point ,now you have to decide which one to opt for.For further enquiry free to post here. Best of Luck, help100% |

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
If you want to explore your career in Industry right through Job market rather then Academics or else, then MBA is better option. You can specialise in Biotechnology or Marketing which will let you to get in Manufacturing Industry in some executive or managerial part of job. However, for those who want to get into Academics, R & D field for them going through M.sc is better option. |

It is fact that you cant expect a good pay as it is in MBA but that does'nt mean M.sc is not good its a General course which requires Experiance and shapen skills with respect to time. However, if you are opting for MBA then its Okay, but persue it from a good institute and it would be much better if your Institute have campusing facility. |

Re: MBA or MSc. after BSc Biotechnology (Honors) ?
dear friend
i think MBA after bsc in biotechnology will be best choice.there r many jobs option r avalable in MBA. bt in MSC no more jobs r avalable.actuallu MBA is management base subject. in MBA the various subjects r 1.financial management. 2.human & resourse devlopment management. 3.marketing management. etc. through u can get private as well as govt. jobs.in private sector u will get the job in any big private companies like 1.philips. 2.godrej etc. there u will get M.D or manager post in that company. for ur branch govt jobs r 1. bank. 2.p.o 3.railway. etc so take decission & make ur future bright. good luck. |
