Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
Hi
It's not anything like mechanical engineering is not good for girls. We should only choose field of our interest it's very important. Because if we will choose the field which we like, we will perform good in that field we will be interestingly do that thing. So if you want to do mechanical engineering and you are ready to work with boys, you have interest in things like cars, refrigerator, air conditioner, and things which have link with mechanics if you have interest in these fields then please go ahead. People says so many things but do whatever you like. And secondly mechanical engineering is also an upcoming stream of engineering. But again I will suggest you think before taking any step and you can go for mechanical Engg. If you are really interested in it. Good luck. |

Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
hi.. generally it has been seen that there are not many mechanical engineers who are girls and many people avoid girls from taking up the mechanical engineering branch ,there are many reasons for this ,some of them are as follows :
1.the mechanical engineering branch is very tough branch physically and there are many operations in the course that would be very tough for girls to perform and hence they get less marks when compared to the boys because of this . 2.even in the job also the life of an mechanical engineer is very tough,he has to work in an environment with very high temperatures in the various factories and the girls can not work here and hence they shy away from the mechanical engineering branch 3.also the employers generally does not pay more for the mechanical engineering girls because they know that the productivity from them will not be as good as that from an men counterpart and hence the girls have very slow growth in the mechanical engineering stream 4.generally it is very hard for the girls to go out there and work in the factories because most of the workers in the factories are ,males and an female working there may bring an undue attention on her and that is an very uncomfortable place to work even if the male counterparts most cooperative and understanding 5.generally the various facilities in the factories are not planned by keeping in mind that even an women worker can work here and hence when an women mechanical engineers goes there she may have to share the toilets with male and there are various other similar infrastructure issues and hence its always better not to opt for an mechanical engineering for girls |

Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
of course , girls are also can able to do mechanical engineering . in this course there is nothing that unsuitable for girls .everyone able for mechanical engineering either "she/he". if you are interested for doing this course. you can do as you want . there is no any objection for girls regarding this course . it is exactly same as boys.. so if you want to do you this course you can.women can do well at engineering job as men....
the second answer of the question is that in this course people think that it will only for boys but it is only for boy if girls are interested this course then they can do this course this is depends on your interest . |

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING NOT SUITED FOR GIRLS?? The majority of suggestion always wins that "Mechanical Engineering is not suited for girls" because of the facts which is around it.. -> If you ask me it depends upon once interest to go for the course... -> Off-course there will be more of physical work than mental or thinking work which happens in most of the software fields... -> If you feel am not a person who is ready to do physical work then for sure it's not suited for you... -> I do have a friend who got placed in TVS 4 months back and the work which he does is more tiresome as he needs more experience at start but he is doing it in a very positive way as he is interested in it... -> So it all depends upon your decision and motive, if you are ready and interested then go for it.. -> At last it's your interest which matters than the suggestions from others.... so think wise and take a nice decision.. -> Any more queries, feel free to leave a post in our forum.. Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
Mechanical Engineering deals in Machines which involve rigorous physical work may not be suitable for girls but if you are interested for Mechanical engineering being a girl I think thereis no question arises regarding suitability. Confidence, interest and strong will power can make every thing easy and suitable.

Hello Friend...
I unable to understand that , why are you askinng this question if you want to addmit in Machanical Engineering , then definitly you should addmiit in Machanical Engineering. If you will addmit in Machanical Engineering then you will make automatically able to solve Machanical problem... And you will become suitable to Machanical Engineering I am giving you this reply , because i am in COMPUTER ENGINEERING --------------Best Of Luck----------- Thank You Navin Balla |

I just give my life experience as example to you: I joined BE Mechanical in the year 2003, where i was only one with 210 guys. there were no seniors to guide me. but most of my friends in class not allowed me to think that i am alone. Few guys with very soft heart who helped me in project and campus interviews preparation. I completed my BE in mechanical in 2007 with 70%. Now working in a reputed company and 6 years experienced. All the best. Luck follows U with clean heart. |

Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
Mechanical engineering suitable for also but one thing you should remember to take group mechanical engineering that is students in mechanical engineering must be hard workers through out the whole course till end and girls percentage is very less compared to boys.while going for projects girls may join with boys to work project.

Re: Is Mechanical Engineering unsuitable for girls?
Hai friend
No,what you are thinking about mechanical engineering is unsuitable for girls is not true.Anyone either boy or girl can opt any course and can acheive sucess. But the main thing that made you to think like that is most of the girls doesnot prefer the mechanical engineering because it is hardware and you need to work hard in that field. Most of the girls prefer the software courses like CSE,IT and ECE which are easy than the mechanical engineering. There is no rule that girls are not suitable for the mechanical engineering. So,you can opt the mechanical engineering if you have interest. Thank You |
