National Defence Academy:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the competitive exams twice a year in February and September. This training commences in the month of January and July respectively. The candidate needs to mention his preference for joining the service but this depends upon the rank in the merit list.

Before specifying their preferences, the cadets need to decide their preference for the two academies, National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (Executive Branch). If the candidate chooses the National Defence Academy, then the indication of preference is towards the three wings of National Defence Academy ( Army, air force and Navy) followed by preference towards the Naval Academy (Executive Branch) and vice verse.

The Naval Engineering College is at Lonawala. Male candidates between the age group of 16-1/2 years – 19 years are directly selected by the Navy. The main eligibility criteria is that you need to clear your XII grade with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), scoring more than 70% and a minimum of 50% in English. The selected cadets in the field of Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering and Electrical Engineering are trained by the Naval Engineering College. The details about the selection process are published in the leading news paper and Employment News during the month of May/June. The course commences in the month of December.

Pattern & Syllabus for NDA exam:

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects....

1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

There is no minimum marks required in order to qualify for the NDA Written Examination.

The Things that are required for the NDA Written Examination are :

a) Your minimum educational qualification should be 12th with PCM from any recognized board.

b) Your age should round in between 16.5-19 years.

c) You must be physically and mentally sound.

d) You must be an Indian Male and unmarried too.

Hi Aspirant

For the National Defnece services exam first you need to write the exam and this exam is conducted by the upsc department which is conducting several exams every year and taking the exams two times in a year.

Qualifications Required for the NDA Exam :

-The Candidate must be pass in the 12th hsc exam

-The Candidate must have the physics and maths as subjects at 12th class

-The Candidate must be a citizen Of India

Age :

For the exam age should be 16.5-19 years

if you have qualified the examination, within a few days of declaration of results you will receive a call letter from UPSC, if not than immediately contact UPSC.

a frnd of mine has recently cleared NDA written exam he told me that he attempted only 116 questions at all with about 80-90% accuracyand he cleared the exam...

NDA cut off given below :

Written Exam Cutoff was 290

SSB Cutoff

For Army was 659

For navy was 659

For IAF was 703

NDA exam pattern :

Mathematics : 300 marks , Duration - 2.5 hours

General Ability Test : 900 marks ,Duration - 2.5 hours

Selection process based on the following Stages :

Written Test
SSB Interview
Medical test

There is not any restrictions to score any fix marks. The results declares on the basis of cut off and no. Of students appeared.Basically you can try to score more than 65% marks in written test so that you can be easily qualify for interview.

NDA examination Is conducted by the UPSC. There is not any restriction to obtain any particular marks to crack this examination ,however if you score more than 70 % marks in written exam then you may hope for the selection in the examination.

Sir I got the 49% in H.H.C exam and 41, 42, 39 marks obtain in physics, chemistry ,maths sir i am qualify for NDA written exam
