Re: Minimum marks to be scored to get a seat in IIT's?
Hello...........The cut off for qualifying in IITJEE is different every year plus there is a relative scoring ,that means you have to depend on the score of others.since you are from OBC category, last year OBC category qualifying marks were 19.But qualifying doesn't mean getting a seat.To get a seat last year OBC candidates had to score 170 marks whereas the general cut off was 180 marks for getting a seat in IIT.OBC candidates don't get anu preparotary course like SC ST students. So keep working hard as IITJEE is not an east nut to crack

IIT's have always been every student's dream who which to pursue his career in the field of engineering..here i am providing a list according to previous two years(2010&2011) as there has been very different statistics this year due to unusual paper setting.... for this year: Predicted Rank Marks 1-500 More than 315 501-1000 290-315 1001-2000 268-290 2001-3000 251-268 3001-4000 240-251 4001-5000 231-240 5001-6000 222-231 6001-7000 215-222 7001-8000 209-215 8001-9000 203-209 for last year: Predicted Rank Marks 1-500 More then 305 500-1000 285-305 1000-2000 254-285 2000-3000 237-254 3000-4000 223-237 4000-5000 214-223 5000-6000 206-214 6000-7000 198-206 7000-8000 192-198 8000-9000 185-192 so...due to more competition and easier paper,cutoff went high...so it is uncertain to detect anything about next year. |

Re: Minimum marks to be scored to get a seat in IIT's?
This year for IITJEE 2012 IIT has brought about new rules in the path of individual cut-offs.
According to latest amendments: 1. A candidate needs to score at least 10% marks in each subject to get through. 2. Also 35% marks need to be scored as an average at least criteria to get a position in the rank list. The cutoffs for SC/ST/OBC will be a little lesser than that for general category. All the best |

Re: Minimum marks to be scored to get a seat in IIT's?
Dear pal,
IIT conducts the joint entrance exam for admitting the aspiring students to various engineering courses to the IIT branches IN india . The exam includes two paper. The pattern of the exam is that each paper includes three section .the sections are physics , chemistry and maths The student can choose to write the paper either in english or hindi which they need to mention in the application form. The paper 1 consist of 84 questions equally divided among all the three subjects and each question carrier 3 mark with a total mark of 252. The paper 2 consists of 57 questions and total mark for the paper is 237 both the paper has NEGATIVE marks. IIT being top institutions in India the aspirant with the highest mark will be able to get into it. The minimum marks which one need to get for joining IIT differ from year to year and it is all based on the skills of the people attempting it and the questions given. So try to prepare well and get more marks in order to get your seat. All the best |

Re: Minimum marks to be scored to get a seat in IIT's?
A recent news has come up, that you have to score just 33% marks in all the three subject Maths, Physics and Chemistry paper to secure a rank and seat in any one of the IIT's but it doesn't take any responsibility of granting you your preferred course.
So a minimum of 33% marks is required to get a seat in any IIT across india for Btech. |

Re: Minimum marks to be scored to get a seat in IIT's?
Dear friend,
Minimum marks required to get seat in IITs varies every year. Every year IIT fixes the cut-off marks to different categories of candidates. It depends up to the level of question paper and marks obtained by the topper. Last year it was approx 190 for general category candidates. If you score more than 220 marks then you will sure get seat in IITs........ Best of luck..... |
