Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
dear friend,
To attend GATE exam there is no such criteria.. The only criteria to attend GATE is- you must have complete your graduation in any engineering discipline, or Master degree in any other technical field or in general field... you can also appear in GATE exam when you are in 3rd year of your B.tech, because the validity of the score card is remains for two years.. so, don't worry.. your B.tech aggregate is not so important.. Just prepare for GATE... All the best.. |

Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
Dear Friend
As such there is no clause in the Eligibility criteria of GATE that you must have some minimum aggregate marks in B.Tech. to be eligible for the exam. Once you qualify the GATE exam and you try to apply for M.Tech. in some IIT then your aggregate marks of B.Tech. comes in picture. IITs require you to have at least 6.5 to 7.0(may vary in different IITs) CGPA on the scale of 10. Therefore if you have scored more than 65% in B.Tech. you are very much safe. It doesn't mean that if you haven't scored that much marks in B.Tech. then you can't apply for GATE. You can surely apply for GATE but you can't get admission in some IIT if you don't have that much marks. But, you can be eligible for admission in other government colleges. |

Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
Quote:
there is no rule of getting a particular percentage in b.tech for getting admission in m.tech. you will get admission in m.tech at any percentage. the main thing is that most of the good colleges ask for good cgpa in b.tech like for iit colleges at least 6.5 cgpa out of 10 is required and in other good engineering colleges at least 6.9 cgpa is required for taking admission. you will be asked for this cgpa at the time of taking admission. but even if your cgpa is less than that, then also you will get admission but the college will not be a good college. that is why you must get good cgpa in b.tech to get admission in a good college in m.tech |

Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
Hi friend,
To write Gate minimum qualification is B.Tech/M.Sc. There is no criteria of minimum percentage. But if you want to get into top institutes like IIT Delhi or IIT Mumbai, you must secure high Gate score with at least CGPA of 8.5 or 75% marks in qualifying exam. Even if you have low percentage you don't need to worry at all. NITs and other institutes will remain open before you. Good Luck |

Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
Hello friend .....
As far as I am concerned there is no such minimum CGPA or the percentage of the marks required for applying to the GATE examination .. But then after the GATE exam if you have scored good marks and the percentile and if you want to take admission in the IIT and the NIT colleges then there the B.Tech percentage comes in the picture .. There you have to have a minimum of the 6.5 cgpa or the 65% of the marks in the B.Tech career ... But then you can even take the admission in the other private colleges or the universities if you have less the 6.5 cgpa in the B.Tech career .... So best of luck for future .. |

Re: How much aggregate is required in B.Tech to attend GATE entrance exam?
Graduation marks does not matters while applying for GATE.
If you are a B.tech student then your only criteria is : Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. This exam is normally held in February month of every year. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. Examination fee for taking the exam is Rs 1000/- for general and Rs 500/- for SC/ST/PD candidates. For more information: http://gate.iitm.ac.in/ |
