Indian Administrative Service(IAS)

IAS is a very reputed post of government job. there is no any percentage criteria define for IAS post.

Eligibility:- candidate should have graduation in any stream from recognised university.

Age of candidate should be minimum 21 year maximum 30 years for general (Upper age limit relaxable for sc/st/obc).

Attempts:-
for general -4
for obc -7
for sc/st - no limit.

Fee:- 100 rs for general category and no fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled)

Selection:- selection is based on written test and interview.
Total Marks for Written Exam -- 2000 Marks.
Interview Test -- 300 Marks.
Grand Total -- 2300 Marks.

The IAS exam is conducted by UPSC services.And this exam is held once inc year.The eligibility criteria boer percentage required are
1.Minimum 60% in academics.
2.Graduation or degree from any recognised university.
3.The age limit is 21-30 years.
There is a relaxation in age and in marks for reservation candidates.For IAS notifications see the employment newspaper Or visit the official website www.upsc.gov.in

if you are graduated from recognized university in any discipline
(science,arts,commerce) you can apply in IAS.

There is no such requirement of any percentage in graduation just passed is enough IAS.

Indian Administration Service exam is held once in year

this exam is part of Civil service exam and exam is conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for IAS exam:
Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
Age should be between
21 to 30 years for General category candidates
21to 33 year for OBC category candidates
21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts:
4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

There are 3 stage or EXAM in the IAS.
first one is preliminary exam(it is objective type exam)
second is main exam (question to be answer in length)
third is personal interview

clearing one will get you to another level exam.

Hi Friend,

to become IAS you need to write Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC.

for this there is no restriction on percentage, the required criteria is

candidate should be a graduate in any stream from recognised University.

Age Limit : 21 years to 30 years.

Age relaxation is given on upper age limit.

3 years for OBC.

5 years for SC and ST.

10 years for PHC.

Number Of Attempts:

4 times for General Candidate.

7 times for OBC.

there is no limit on number of attempts for SC and ST candidates.

notification may release in the month of Feb for this year.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam so if you want to go for IAS exam , you can attend to CSAT exam.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

The IAS selection process is consist in three way

1)Preliminary exam
2)Main exam
3)Inter View.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services and to become IAS Officer, you need to cracked the UPSC Civil Services examination, This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year.

The Notification of this year Civil services examination was already Published on 04/Feb/2012 and the Online Registrations was already started.

There is No Offline application form Facility from this year, Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online Only.

The last date of apply for this examination Online : 05/March/2012

Preliminary examination will be held on : 20/May/2012.

Eligibility Criteria :

~~ You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised University

~~ Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination

IAS exam is a civil service exam, which is conducted by UPSC every year..

Eligibility for the exam:-

2.Final year candidates can also apply for the exam..
3.No such percentage criteria is required..

1.The age should be in between 21-30 years for general category students..
For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.


* Candidate should be a citizen of India..

So, you just have to complete the graduation , don't bother about the percentage of aggregate..

No percentage of marks required for to become an IAS officer.


IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer you have to appear for the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.


The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having appeared for the final graduation degree exam or passed from any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years age. The upper age is relaxed for OBC category candidate up to 3 years and that for SC/ST/PH category up to 5 years, is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for application to Civil Service exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT- Civil Service Aptitude Test- Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective tupe questions.

Civil Service Main Exam. which comprises of all subjective type questions.

Personal Interview.

The registration process for Civil Service Exam 2012 is going on now. The last date of application is 05.03.2012 through on line only followed by CSAT-Preliminary exam on 20.05.2012.

IAS exam 2012 syllabus

Exam syllabus for 2012 IAS exam consists of preliminary and main exams. Preliminary exam for IAS 2012 consists of objective type questions where as in main exams there will be written test.

IAS 2012 preliminary exam syllabus

IAS preliminary exam syllabus consists of two papers. Both papers consists of 200 marks questions with two hours for each paper. Paper 1 includes questions relating to current affairs, Indian political system, general science, history of India etc. Paper two consists of questions related to Logical reasoning and analytical ability, Decision making and problem solving, General mental ability, numerical ability English language etc. more details about the IAS 2012 exam syllabus is given in this link.

IAS 2012 main exam syllabus

IAS main exam includes questions of 2000 marks. The starting date of IAS main exam is from 5th October 2012 and it will last for 21 days. IAS main exams consists of general science paper of 600 marks, then two optional papers of 600 marks each and a essay paper of 200 marks. There will be 3 hours allotted for each paper.



IAS exam 2012 eligibility criteria

For writing the IAS exam there are some eligibility criteria on the basis of educational qualification, age and citizenship. More details about the eligibility criteria for IAS exam 2012 are given below.

Educational qualification:
Candidate must be graduate in any stream under University Grants Commission (UGC)
No such percentage criteria is required.

Citizenship:
candidate must be Indian

Age limit:
Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years for general category, for OBC it will be minimum 21 and maximum 33 years
