in a page you mentioned that to get admission in Mtech one must pass in 8 semesters.

i dont understand. How 8 ? Will you plz elaborate.

BSc - 3 years (Regular)+
MCA 6 semesters(3 years) -- From SMU distance edu

I am eligible?

through gate u can get admission into mtech
u must have any degree............
try for pgcet,also

GATE through m.tech is very good. and other criterai is that like as:-
1.complete graducation in b.tech
2.if you are not candident b.tech. then you passed master degree .
3. you also apply in direct admission.

yes you are eligible for the gate exam. any student who have completed msc, mca or btech is eligible for the exam. since you have already applied online for the exam, so don,t worry your roll no. will surely come. you must start working hard for the exam

Actually these 8 semesters are concerned with the engineering studies not in your case of MCA. But since you have done MCA and want to do MTech from IITs thats why you are eligible on the basis of your MCA degree if and only if you have cleared all the semesters(six semesters) of MCA.
So if you have cleared all the subjects of MCA then do apply for GATE this year before 29th of October 2010.

after doing P.G you will be eligible after GATE bcoz you are BSc student not b.tech .
after B.tech gate eligibility is there

Since you have done MCA which is equivalent to a BTech degree. Hence you are eligilble to write GATE exam. You may write GATE exam in any stream, because it is not necessary however computer science is also there for you.
8 semester is told and applicable only to BTech students, dont get bothered . This totally applicable to them.

See MCA is considered as B.tech that is it is equivalent to B.Tech so you are eligible for writing GATE exam paper.
So don't get nervous and keep preparation for GATE.

For GATE exam you should be from B.Tech degree or from M.Sc/MCA degree.

As you are in 6th semester of MCA then you can appear in GATE exam, through which you can take admission in any college in M.Tech degree as per your GATE score basis.

kindly, i suggest you to prepare for GATE 2011 exam which will be held on 12th feb 2011.

yes you can take MTech admission after BSc and MCA.

but to take MTech admission after BSc and MCA you have to qualify a exam which is gate exam.

Yes u are eligible for M.tech as MCA is equivalent to an engineering degree. And u also can apply for GATE examination, 8 semester scheme is just for btech students as btech is of 4 years means 8 semester, it is not meant for MCA students.

here i am giving:Eligibility Conditions for Full-Time M.Tech.

A candidate must have passed B. E. / B. Tech. degree
in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/
Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering
from the University of Delhi or equivalent qualifications from
recognized University/Institutions.


OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E. (India )
Exam with appropriate Specialization/ Grad. I.E.T.E (India),
AMIE (London), or any other examination in the concerned branch
recognized as equivalent to B. E. Degree by the University of Delhi.
A candidate for admission to full time course must have valid

For M.TECH you have minimum a degree holder like (B.TECH).

So you can not elligible for M.TECH.

after doing B.TECH then you apply for M.TECH exam.

In order to pursue M.Tech you need to complete your graduation course first.As you have completed your MCA degree so you are eligible to pursue this course.

I completed my Bachelors in computer applications(BCA) from IP university(regular) and MCA(LE2) from Punjab Technical University(PTU) - duration 2 years(distance learning).
