The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection which you may recognised as IBPS conducts the exam to fill vacancies in the Public Sector Undertaking banks for Clerk and PO. IBPS Bank exam is one of the most popular and widely taken exam. More than 10 Lakh students appear for the IBPS Bank exams.


There are various reason to appear in the IBPS Exam. Who would not want a job in Public Sector Undertaking banks. There is job security in PSU which you are not going to see in private sector banks. And of course the pay is also good. Although some private banks offer more salary but still the pay in competitive.


The other reason is large number of vacancies in the PSU Banks. A lot of employess are expected to retire between 2012 to 2015 which would lead to large number of jobs available at the Public Sector Undertaking banks.


Earlier each PSU bank used to conduct its own exam for the job. However it was replaced with the Common Written Exam which would give job in 19 Public Sector Undertaking banks. These banks are:

IBPS Clerk Exam Eligibility

1. Candidate should be Indian citizen.

2. The age limit for IBPS Clerk is 18 to 28 years.

3. There is three years relaxation for OBC Candidate.

4. Five years relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST candidates.


Educational Requirement:

1. Candidate must pass 10th standard with 60 percent marks.

There is no percentage criteria for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

2. or Must have completed 12th with 50 percent marks.

Similarly no requirement of percentage for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

3. A graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university.



IBPS PO Exam Eligibility

1. Candidate should be Indian.

2. Age limit is 20 to 30 years for Bank PO.

3. The age limit for OBC is 33 years while 35 for SC/ST

4. Must posses graduation degree in any stream.


Exam Dates

The IBPS Bank PO exam has already take place for this year. However IBPS Clerk exam is yet to take place. What IBPS has notified is that exam has been delayed and yet the announcement of dates has not been made. But what we know is that announcement of dates would be made in September while exam would take place in October-November.

Apart from the common written exam (CWE), and once the applicants had cleared the exam then each and every bank will have special process for recruitment in their own bank. So the applicant can go through the selection procedure in that particular bank and can apply for the same. So the basic criterion to approach all these banks for recruitment process is the scores from IBPS exam. The question paper type for clearing the IBPS exam will different for each and every year. Notification is not announced for next session IBPS PO exam

Recently IBPS has successfully conducted IBPS PO/MT exam at 17th June 2012 in two shifts

So next session exam will take a long time and you will have to wait

IBPS PO exam 2013 notification can be announced after the exam of IBPS clerk 2012
