what are the eligibility criteria for GATE exam?
like for B.E. we have to score 50% in HSC 12th & CET test....etc. etc.?
does qualifying from gate givs opportunity for m.tech course or any research field....
what % v need in B.E.? & how much score in GATE.
now i am studying with INDIRA col. of ENGG.. S.E. computers. pune.

yes, gate exam only for m.tech courses .elligibility like complete BE OR B.TECH in any stream and get 70% marks then you can apply for this post.in gate exam you can score minimum 70 to 80% marks so you can get good college like iit delhi, mumbai,etc.

hey the normal eligiblity only.... you can join M.E courses also....atmost 60% is aggregate normally... IIT offers many research programs

Eligibility Criteria for B.E./B.Tech candidate:- Must have secured at least 60% aggregate including all semesters, and also have persued engineering after 10+2 scheme, means candidate who have done engineeering after Diploma is not allowed.

Courses/Benefit After GATE

M.Tech: candidates scoring at least 600+ marks alongwith at least 95% Percentile in GATE can expect Direct admission in IIT's for IIS few more good performance is required. Candidate scoring 500+ marks alonwith 85% Percentile in GATE can expect seat in NIT's.

MS: Candidates scoring 550 marks alongwith 90+ pencentile in GATE can expect a direct seat in IIT's, having some what lowere can fetch you in NIT's.

Research: If you are a B.Tech student and want to persue P.hd then you can do so without appearing to NET exam, but under UGC.

B.tech/B.E. candidate does'nt required to write CSIR-UGC-NET.

CSIR has a special criteria for that.B.tech/B.E. candidates can directly persue P.hd with JRF from CSIR.

If candidate had appeared for GATE and must have valid and Very good GATE score and percentile, then for those there is a special scheme of fellowship.

This is a special criteria which CSIR has for B.tech students.Which ia popular with the name GATE-JRF.The candidate will b given oppurtunity to persue integrated P.hd directly along with stipend from IIT's or IISC or NIT's or other institutes of national importance.

The eligible candidates will recieve call letter which is known as "Award letter" from the Director of CSIR laboratories.

JOB: Various MNC's, PSU's Recruit candidates on there GATE performance. Meritorious candidate are also offered Direct job without any processing. Means GATE also increases emplybility rate.

1. Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
2. Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
3. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology.
4. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

No, after getting a good rank in GATE you are not only eligible for M.Tech but students with a Master's degree can also apply for PhD. Then you can also have MS with details as provided above.

any final yr engeneering student is elegible for GATE examination,this exam is require for admission to ME or M.tech , every year the score changes for qualification,after qualifying examination you will get stypend from govt.

GATE is not only way to do M.tech.there r also some reserved seats & u can also go through that.sometimes it also happen that student who crack a GATE but they don't want to take admision,so there are vaccancies fo their seats.......

GATE-(M-tech,M.S,M.S BY RESEARCH)is a program organised by various IITs and IIScb in india.there r no restrictions i.e u can maintain even 50% in your B.E but should qualify in GTAE(25.3 was the qualifying marks last year(2010) and top mark was(85.5)).you can even try for ph.d from foreign university if u get qualified in iit.

M-tech cannot be done only through GATE..But however if you dont obtain good percentile in GATE there are some university which takes direct admission on the basis of your percentage in B-Tech e.g. Kurukshetra..........Through GATE you will get Stiphend.........and it is 100 no paper.........you have to go to your regular subject

hi,
a eligibility of gate is following-
1) a engineering degree(BE/B.TECH) with minimum 60% from recognized university. a final year/pre-final year student of engineering can also be apply because a gate scorecard having 2 year validity .
2) a master degree in science/computer application with minimum 60% from recognized university.

if u got a 95+ percentile in gate exam than u got iit's college & if u got 85-95%ile than u got a nit's college.

if u complete a engineering degree from iit college with above 70% than u got a direct admission in iit for m.tech.

You must secure 60% aggregate in B.E.in all semester

The basic criteria for appearing in GATE will be 60% in B.Tech including your all semester. There are many colleges they provide direct admission in M.Tech.

If you want to do your M.Tech from reputed colleges in india you must score at least 600+ in GATE.

Eligibility criteria for GATE:
For General category you must score 55% and 50% for SC/ST candidate in you B.E/M.Sc but it will be better if you keep above 60%.
No, just qualifying GATE you do not get M.Tech in any courses or research in any field, your GATE score must be greater than the cut-off of the respective department.Different department have different cut-off.Try to score as much as possible (for these cut-off and other things go to http://gatecounsellor.com ).

gate score from this year is taken out of 100.
from any department,minimum score is 25/100.
you have to score that.
there is only one way out ,that is sponsored m.tech by company.

There is no such eligibility criteria (in terms of percentages) decided in GATE examination. However it is upto the institutions who will allow students having certain percentages. You can confirm this on http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2011/eligibility.php

But it is good if you achieve more than 60% marks in your btech. MTech is of two types.( Now a days a new field has been emerged ) MTech (regular) and MTech(Research). MTech (research) is offered to those candidates who have interests in research line.

By the way, GATE score of more than 500 is sufficient to get admission in NITs and 600 for IITs.

GATE exam is for joining m.tech.After passing your BE or B.TECH you can do the gate exam and join M.TECH.

GATE exam is an entrance exam for M.tech course, which is conducted by IIT's and IISC jointly.

Eligibility for GATE exam:-

*The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in the field of engineering/Technology/Architecture..
Or,
*The candidate must have complete the master degree in the field of Science/Computer application/MBA etc..
*The candidate can also appear in GATE exam during the pre-final year or final year of graduation or post graduation..
*The validity of GATE exam is remains for 2 years.
*There is no age limit to appear in GATE exam..

So, after qualifying in GATE exam you can only go for M.tech course..
if you have interest in doing M.tech then you can go for GATE exam..

Elligibility Criteria:
