Options for doing M.Sc having done graduation 7 years back?
I am a pass out graduate in Bio Sc from C.U in 1999. My subjects were Botany, Zoology and Chemistry. I secured 61.4% marks in aggregate. Now I want to do M.Sc. what are the options for me?

Re: Options for doing M.Sc having done graduation 7 years back?
For C.U. or Calcutta University, I must say, that your marks are really good. People don't manage to get a first class in graduation courses under C.U. even now. So I really wonder why would you leave such a bright prospect of M.Sc. back then.
Now getting in a regular course of M.Sc. will not be possible in C.U. or J.U. or any other regular universities for that matter. It is over 16 years now. So the best option right now is to go for a master degree in distance. Since you are already from pure science background, I suggest you choose some master degree course related to IT(information technology) or computer applications. In fact, St. Xavier's College in Kolkata has IGNOU courses in MCA or master's of computer applications. Here you just need to have a graduation in science. It doesn't matter whether you have done it 16 years ago or not. No entrance test is there for the master's course unlike CU. You can log onto www.ignou.ac.in to get the information brochure downloaded on the IGNOU course. MCA courses help students get corporate jobs. It is a 3 year course unlike M.Sc., but in distance education the fee is much less than regular courses. Think about it. |
