Dear all,

I'm an engineer graduated in 2004. But I always aspired to do MBBS since

schooling. Is it possible to do MBBS now..? Am I still eligible to sit for

the entrance exams for MBBS and get enrolled if I secure good marks in the

entrance..? Also, my optional subject in Intermediate doesn't include

Biology. Please advise me....

you have also not mentioned your 12th marks
so it is difficult for us to answer your question

you will not be eligible for exams as you don't have Biology at 12th level and for appearing of MBBS entrance exams you will definitely need BIO at 12th level so i would suggest you to don't waste your time now in thinking of MBBS and pursue your engineering carrier with full dedication. no one can stop you if you fulfill the eligibility to appear for pre-medical test like:- age,percentage and if you had't studied biology in class 12th, you might have to appear for 12th boards again...so, all the best

10+2 with biology as one of the subjects is enough if you want to do mbbs

if you dont have biology in your higher secondary means you cannot do mbbs ..

Thanks for your replies. BIO was not one of my options in 12th std. But is it possible to sit for the exams? If I clear the exams, is there a age limit to do the MBBS??

for this exams , biology is must in 12th level. you are not eligible for it because you dont have biology subject in 12th class.

i think your idea is completely an absurd one,
you should have biology in your inter to get into mbbs,and you dont have that,
also if really wanted to become an doctor then you should have gon for biology in your inter itself,y all the fuss now?

yes,you are still eligible for joining into M B B S course after completion your B E ...
if an only if you have ...biology subject in 10+2 ......
then only you can write the exams for medical entrance..
like A I I M S ,many more exams which is conducted by state governments can also apply for that..

for doing mbbs, biology is must, without biology, you can't do mbbs..............

Im on my final year of b.e. i always like to study mbbs, but due to some reasons i couldnt able to clear the entrance exams for mbbs before 3 year. so, is it possible for me to attend and join for the mbbs entrance exams in india? if so, what are the entrance exams eligible for me. my age is 23 and i had biology subject till my 12th standard or higher secondary. kindly reply,.

I am ARTHI I have completed my XII std this year (ie 2010 ). My dream is to become a doctor but i m not elligible for getting medicine
through TAMIL NADU conselling i didnt write the zipmer entrance also so wether i have a chance to write ZIPMER entrance exam
next year and join medicine next year pls rply me its my dream & future

If you are really interested in taking up medicine as a career you can always wait one more year,study hard and make it.Try various other exams like AIPMPD/AIIMS/JIPMER etc..this yr,see if you are interested and eligible for options like dental/veterinary sciences etc..cheers

but thats really appreciable that you have lots of interest in mbbs and for that i would like to tell you that you can appear for admission to mbbs if you didnt cross the age limit

as you have mentioninig that you have not biology in +2 standard. so it is not possiable for you to do MBBS.

the age limit for doing MBBS is 25 year.

u must have biology in ur 12th,for doing MBBS.

As u have mentioned, that u don't have biology in 12th, so there is no possibility to join in MBBS..

first you do intermediate with taking biology as a

main subject. As previously you have intermediate

degree with math as a main subject which make

not eligible for MBBS entrance exam. After getting

intermediate degree with taking biology you crack

MBBS entrance exam and get admission in medical college.

my friend joined MBBS in kovai medical college.she discontinued it after studying 3 years.now again she wanted to continue the course(after a gap of three years).is it possible for her to continue the course and get the MBBS degree?

Sitting in medical examinaiton is decided by you , because you havent mentioned your age , if you have crossed 25years then you are not eligible.
However it is not beneficial to do MBBS after btech since you will not supposed to earn atleast after 7 years however on the basis of btech you can earn very from the beginning .
Which I dont think that anyone in scenario want to spend time upon it.
Still if you want to add a doctor word before your name then proceed.

So you must write biology.some boards offer to write special exams alone.if the board in which you have studied have that chance you can.
Then you must sit for entrance of medicine and then can join MBBS.

though you have not taken biology then as per rules you are not eligible to sit for MBBS entrance test.

and I suggest you engineering itself is a good degree so why are you thinking about this.are you underestimating yourself?do not do that.doctors and engineers are always 1st category citizen in any country.so be proud to be an engineer.

To be eligible for doing MBBS you need to have biology as a subject in your
curriculum, so try obtaining that
and then you give an entrance exam after which if you qualify in the exam then
you can do it.
But i would suggest rather than doing MBBS (5 1/2 years) of study, you can just learn it for a hobby.

It was the biggest fault that see left in 3rd year whatever may have been the reason.
But its past you cannot do anything.
There is very little chance that see can join it.
But then also see must enquire about it once in the collge wheter she can complete it or not from the faculty.
If see would have not taken out her tc from there the chances are there after giving some genuine reason for the gap

i m goin to usa and there can i do my 12th again and then opt for mbbs

sorry you are not eligible because you must fill the mbbs criteria of age limit.
if your age still less than the age limit in the criteria given
then you are eligible.
and even your 12 subjects bio should be the compulsion one

It is good to choice the field of your interest but you need to be consider other criteria too.....like
you are Going to complete B.tech and after that you are thinking to do MBBS there will be
lose of your age,study ,money and the degree you got of Engineer.
and for doing MBBS you need more 5 to 7 year to make a establish career.

you can think of the thing going in wrong direction.Yes you can do MBBS for sure if you have BIOLOGY as a subject in 12th class..but now after being a engineer it not worthy.......


but you can do one thing as there is a saying "Where there is a will there is a way......"
so do M.Tech in BIOTECHNOLOGY,GENETIC ENGINEERING etc to work in your field of interest without wasting your current degree....

But the decision should be yours if your totally feed up with what you are now then definitely you need a restart............

HELLO,yah there are possiblilty for become a doctor instead you you have complete b.e.you have take the biology paper of class 12th from the same board you have qualified your 12th.get qualified in that & attach the biology qualified result with yor 10+2 marksheet & produce the documents in the counselling when asked for it.remember if you have strong desire to achieve your goal with hard work & with positive attitude then no carrier can stop you.

you are eligible if you have biology in 12 subject .now in tamilnadu mbbs admission purely 12 mark ..........

I am sorry to say but you are not eligible for MBBS since you didn't had biology at 12th. And the basic eligibility for doing MBBS is that Candidate must have passed HSC (10+2 or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.

If you are so interested in doing MBBS then why didn't you took biology at 12th & appeared for medical entrance exam instead of doing engineering?

Anyways, you have made a mistake & it can't be rectified now. Engineering is also a promising career. So, focus on it.
