I am doing my engineering in EC branch. I am in 4th year. I am taking gate exam next year. I want to know what are the government companies which hires through Gate score. Is there any qualifying marks for gate. what should be the minimum score so that any company can hire the candidate.

There has rare chance ti hire through the GATE score,you can apply for M.tech...

Recently, there was a adverisement from the IOCL-Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
if u want to apply to iocl, base criteria is GATE score,then only u r eligible for further rounds like GD and the personal interview.

no company will see the GATE score. For GOVT. jobs u need to study M.Tech for high pay scale.
AMCAT is the one that companies do see for hiring and basing on marks scored do opt u and place in a certain position.

some government organizations do take gate score into consideration,
like IOCL and BARC,
they call the candidates for interview depending on there gate scores,
also you have to get rank below 100 to be called for these interviews,

yes you may benefit in personal interview and from next year many psu see the gate score card then you got job in that company.that's why gate score is very important it is not give direct job but very much chance to get that job.

Of course ,you can get jobs through GATE exam score .IOCL recruits candidates directly through the interview session according to the GATE score .As a pursuing M.tech student you can get jobs in the privet or Govt. technical institutes as a per-time lecturer .
A good GATE score can make your cv more attractive in front of the recruiters .

how to prepare for gate without joining coaching classes?

I have secured 31 marks in GATE 2011.Currently, I am working in MNC but I want to do M.tech in 2013 as score card is vaild for 2 years.
