Re: Where will I get a job according to my GATE score? Which is better between CAT and GATE?
General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) is conducted for admission in M.Tech. This is the main purpose of this entrance exam. However a good GATE score is always beneficial when applying for the job.
Therefore it is recommended that even if you have no intention of doing M.Tech you should still appear for the GATE entrance exam. Now coming to your question, the GATE score has most value when applying in Public Sector Undertaking. Electronics and Communication Engineers are eligible for job in PSU or Public Sector Undertaking. This is basically a company which is controlled by the government. There are more than 150 such companies in India. These companies hire engineers through entrance exam in which GATE entrance exam plays very critical role. The PSU exam consists of written test and interview. However some PSUs don't require candidate to appear for written test instead show their GATE score. Similarly other PSUs exempt candidate with good GATE score from appearing for the written test. This is the advantage of appearing for GATE entrance exam. PSU Eligibility 1. A B.Tech degree which is completed from valid university. 2. At least 60 percent marks in it. 3. There should be no pending backlogs. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years to apply. Apart from PSU, you will find various private companies that gives importance to the GATE score while applying for the job. Therefore I will recommend you to appear for the GATE entrance exam. As far as Common Admission Test (CAT) is concerned, it is conducted for admission in MBA. Unless you want to do MBA, I would not recommend you to appear for CAT. It will not play any critical role in getting you good job. |

Re: Where will I get a job according to my GATE score? Which is better between CAT and GATE?
Dear aspirant,
We cannot compare GATE and CAT because they are of two different streams.GATE is belongs to technical field and CAT is belongs to management field. So both field have their advantage in their own areas. |
