It is possible write IAS exam in urdu language? Can you please give me the right details on the same? How to approach for this? Is there any special mention need to be done while filling the application form or so? Can you please clarify me soon? Thanks!

Civil Service examination is conducted by UPSC every year. The examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates as an I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S etc.

The eligibility to appear for examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline and age limit to appear for examination is 21-32 years with relaxation in age limit for reserved category.

So, if you have above qualification you can appear for examination. Yes, candidates can write their paper in any language ( urdu also ) mentioned in 8th Schedule of Constitution.

To qualify in examination you need to prepare for examination according to syllabus with determination, dedication and devotion to your studies.

You can write paper in Hindi or English as papers are set in Hindi and English.

You can however select Urdu as one of the language for doing that paper in Urdu.
Moreover you can give your interview and subjective question paper in Urdu language otherwise the objective question paper can be written in English or Hindi language only.

As per the official notification of UPSC Civil Service examination, a candidate can write the mains exam in any of the language listed in the 8th schedule of our constitution.

The 22 languages which are listed in the Eighth Schedule of our constitution are Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

As Urdu language is listed in the 8th schedule of our constitution,so, you can take up the exam in Urdu language.

Yes, you can write the UPSC Civil Services Exam for IAS in any language mebtioned in the UPSC notification as per the constitution says.

There are a total of 22 languages from which you can select one ;
* Asamese
* Bengali
* Bodo
* Dogri
* Gujarati
* Hindi
* Kannada
* Kashmiri
* Konkani
* Maithili
* Malyalam
* Manipuri
* Marathi
* Nepali
* Oriya
* Punjabi
* Sanskrit
* Santhali
* Sindhi
* Tamil
* Telugu
* Urdu

* There are two types of questions asked :
> Subjective type
> Objective type

Objective type questions provide options in English and Hindi only. So no options left.

But in Subjective and Interview, Urdu will be the laguage followed.

Since, you are writing your exam in Urdu, be careful in the technical terms. You have to convert the technical terms to the equivalent terms in urdu so as to make the answer understandable and appropriate.
