What is the procedure to Join National Defence Academy of India.
I am 12th Science student. just given my exams. I am interested in NDA, so will you please help me how to get into NDA.

Procedure to Join NDA -

1. Written test,
2. Physical tests,
3. Medical tests,
4. Group tests and
5. Personal Interview.


Educational Eligibility For NDA - A candidate pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Maths with minimum 50 % aggregate marks from a regonised board.

Age Eligibility For NDA - 16 Years to 21 Years.

Physical Eligibility For NDA - A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

1. Eye Sight = 6/6,
2. Height = 167 cms,
3. Weight: 50 Kg
4. Chest: 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

UPSC conducts exam for candidates interested in joining National Defense Academy.
The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for the exam is +2 from a recognized board.
The minimum eligible age for the exam is 16 1/2 years and the maximum age limit is 19 years.
For further information, yu may refer to the official website of UPSC.

You are eligible to join since you have completed your 12th standard. This is provided that that your age is between 161/2 and 19 years. Only those within this age limit can apply. Also only citizens of the country can apply. You will need to clear the entrance exam for the same.

There are three exams through which a person can join army and are as follows :-
1. NDA (National Defence Academy)
Qualification:12th passed through PCM
Age Lmit:16.5-19 years.
This exam is conduced twice a year.

2. CDS (Combined defence Service)
Qualification:Appearing or Passed Graduation
Age Limit 2011:
For IMA- Born not earlier than 2nd January 1988 & not later than 1st January 1993.
For Naval Academy - Born not earlier than 2nd January 1990 & not later than 1st January 1993.
For Air Force Academy - zborn not ealier than 2nd January 1989 and not later than 1st January 1993.

3. UES (University Entry Scheme)
Qualification : Candidates from Engineering
Age : Maximum age limit is 25 years

To apply for the NDA exam you should have to complete your
10+2 first. A candidate who have completed their 10+2 are eligible
to apply for the NDA exam.

The NDA exam is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. You
can apply in different wings such as Indian Army, Navy and Air force
as an officer through NDA exam.

Education Qualification

For Army Wing
For the army wing you should be 10+2 pass . Candidate appeared
in the 10+2 exam are also eligible.

Air force and NA
For this wing you should be 10+2 pass and should have physics and
maths at 10+2. Candidate who appeared in the 10+2 are also eligible.

Age Limit
To apply for the NDA exam your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

NDA-National Defence Academy

Yeah you can do NDA exam as you have finished your 12th exam as the eligibility criteria says that you can apply for the exam when you are appearing for the 12th exam.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidates must be a unmarried male candidate and must have not born before 2nd July 1993 and not later than 1st January 1996 i.e the candidates must be 16 1/2-19 years of age.

Education qualification:

For Army Wing:

The candidates must have finished their +2 with (10th,+2) pattern conducted by school education.

For Air Force and Naval Wings:

The candidates must have finished their 12th with (10th,+2) pattern conducted by school education and must have physics and mathematics as their subjects.

As far concerned with the physical standards the candidate must be physically fit while appearing for the exam.

To join NDA you have to pass 12th board exam from any of the recognized board with the science stream for the naval and the airforce wing ..

the age limit is 16.5 years to 19 years
and the candidate must be the citizen of India

to join NDA first you have to fill the application form by purchasing it from the head post office of your area and then send it to the address given on its envelope

To join the NDA in india you have to quqlify the written exam of NDA.
After passing the NDA exam you have to pass in SSB exams and after then you can join the NDA

It is very nice to see that you want to join NDA and want to serve the nation.
As you have just given class 12th exams you can give NDA examination to join NDA.
NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice every year.Through this examination candidates are selected for the admission in Army,Naval wing and Air force wing of NDA.

For admission in Army wing the candidate can be of any stream.But for the admission in Air Force and Naval wing of NDA the candidate should has Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects in 10+2.A class 12th appearing students can also apply.
Age of the candidate must be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

And as you have given class 12th examination and if your age is between 16.5 to 19 years then you are quite eligible for the examination.

Firstly , only unmarried male candidates are eligible to appear for the NDA(National Defense Academy) exam. Secondly the candidate must satisfy the age requirements. The age limit for appearing for NDA examination is from 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

Candidates, short-listed for Air Force after the initial selection procedure, go through a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy, followed by specialised training at the Air Force Academy.

The NDA (National Defence Academy) exam is held twice every year in the months of April and August..

In order to appear for the NDA exam..you need to fulfill the following conditions :-

1) You should be a 12th pass out (with Physics,Chemistry and Maths if you want to join Navy or Air Force)

2) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years

Apart from these..you should have good physical health and should have a perfect eyesight..

The written exam shall test you on the following things :-

English
Basic Maths
General Knowledge

You need to first clear the written exam,then the interview and finally the medical examination..

The next NDA exam is going to be conducted on 15th April,2012

Eligibility for Indian Army :-

1) 10+2 (Through NDA)

You have to take an entry level exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to join NDA (National Defence Academy).
Eligibility for UPSC exam :-
a) Sex :- Male.
b) Age Limit :- Between 16 1/2 and 19.

Application Forms are published in leading
newspapers during March /April.

The UPSC (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year (April and October)in all major cities throughout India.

Each year course start twice January and July.

UPSC (NDA) Syllabus is based on CBSE syllabus.

After clearing the written exam you have to go through a five-day interview process with the State Selection Board (SSB) which is the final step .

On completion of the NDA course, you are sent to the respective service academies for your pre- commission training.


2) Engineering Graduates (Direct Entry)

Engineering graduate can join the Indian Military Academy directly.

So, you only need to attend the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview.

Age Limit :- Between 20-27 years at the time of joining.

First of all you will have to check the eligibility criteria to see whether you satisfy it or not.

The age limit is from 16.5 years to 19 years
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy the candidate must have passed 10+2 with maths and physics
For Army wing of National Defence Academy the candidate must have passed 10+2.

there are also some physical standards of height , teeth, weight, ear, throat, nose etc.

If you are eligible then first of all you will have to give a written test which consists of 2 papers each of 2.5 hours of duration.
One of 300 marks of mathematics and other is General Ability Test of 600 marks which is further divided into 2 parts - English and General Knowledge.

Those candidates who qualify the written exam are then called for Intelligence and Personality Test.
There is a potentiality assessment while for air force there is also a Pilot Aptitude Test.

there is a Two Stage Selection Procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test.

Then the final selection takes place depending on the merit.
