The Sikkim Manipal University is recognized by the University Grant Commission [UGC] and Distance Education Council [DEC].

All the distance programs offered by the University are approved by the Distance Education Council including Master of Business Administration [MBA]. The University is also recognized by UGC-AICTE- DEC Joint Committee.

For authentication of the approvals one may refer to the official website of Sikkim Manipal University.

UGC conducts the NET exam biannually. The test is carried out in the months of December and June. The pre-requisite criterion to apply for the test is a post graduation. Aspirants should have done the Masters’ course in Social Sciences, Environmental Science or Humanities. Those who have done Masters’ in Forensic Science, Computer Science and Applications or Electronic Sciences can also apply for the test. The percentage requirement is 55% in the qualifying exam. Those who come under SC/ST, VH/PH category have 5 % relaxation in marks. As you have only 50.25 marks in your M.A. course, you are not eligible to apply for the test. However, if you come under SC/ST or VH/PH category, then you can apply for the test. But as you have an M Ed, you can apply for teaching professions in educational institutions.

I am filling form for FCI(Food corporation of India) and their requirement (Post Graduate MBA (Fin) Degree/Diploma by distance education mode recognized by UGC-AICTE- DEC Joint Committee.) and i have done MBA (Fin) from SMU. Just wanted to confirm if SMU has revognized by UGC-AICTE-DEC joint commettee approval or not? Please confirm with details.
