Sports quota in Indian Army?
sir, im 3rd year BE student from Computer science branch, im also a MARTIAL ART player and i have many gold medal in national karate & taekwondo champianship , also participate in International karate tournament in NEPAL. sir please tell me that there is any scope for sports person in INDIAN ARMY.

there is no any sports quota in indian army.but my frnd IF u qualify for SSb of indian army through any entry scheme like UES,TES,EKT,then at SSB ur sports ability will be helpful to crack ssb interview. Best of luck |

3 to 5% of total seats in Indian Army will be given to the sportsmen who is representing the indian team in different type of game......................... some age relaxation will also given to the sportsmen. Relaxation of age – Against sports quota entry, the upper age relaxation for oustanding sportsmen, who have played at International / National / State level may be considered upto a period of 12 months. best of luck............................. |

yes,there is an sports quota in the Indian army,
as you have taken part and won medals in national events you have very good chance of getting an entry in the Indian army. you should apply for the cds exam, you should log on to upsc.gov.in for detailed information all the best |

dear friend,
definitely you will get bonus point in any exam of Indian defence. As you have been a national level player, so it is very plus point for you. But you have to qualify in written exam, then either in interview or in SSB test you will sure get benefits. don't worry about it, but take preparation very carefully. Because having national level certificate & medal is not only eligibility criteria but it will help you for selection only , so be careful about your preparation. good luck. |

Yes, there is Direct Entry in Indian Army (Armed Forces, Air Force and Navy)
for sportsmen through Sports Quota; however, Martial Art disciplines like Karate and Taekwondo do not feature among them. The chosen sporting events are Athletics Aquatics Basket Ball Boxing Best Physique Canoeing Cricket Equestrian Fencing Golf Kayaking Football Gymnastic Hand Ball Hockey Kabbadi Polo Rowing Shooting Squash Tennis Volley Ball Weight Lifting and Wrestling |

Myself Vinay kumar , i have completed my graduation(B.com) in 2009-10, with 51% of marks,through Lucknow university. I am 20 yrs old. I have participated in ALL INDIA LEVEL CROSS COUNTRY(2008-09) and (2009-2010). I want to make career in sports through army , please give me your valuable suggestion .

Hi, i'm a class 12 student amd also a karate student. I've got 2 times second in district level and once second place in an open international karate tournament. I've also got second, 2 third in chennai region taekwondo tournament conducted by K.V.S. Is the open international karate tournament certificate valuable.

hi.........................i am kiran raj.....i am national hockey player........i have represented many nationals in hockey......(SGFI,RURALS NATIONALS,NATIONAL GAMES SENIOR NATIONALS,JUNIOR NATIONAL AND 3 TIMES PLAYED FOR ALL INDIA INTER UNIVERSITY)my age is also 21 only but i am going to do my final year in msc(ct)......problem is can get into army at 22year old ...........can i get into officer posting after i get my msc(ct) degree...........2year old ...........can i get into officer posting after i get my msc(ct) degree...........
