Yes a candidate who has completed Bachelor of Education is eligible to appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test. In fact having B.Ed degree is one of the criteria to appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test.

Therefore once you have completed the B.Ed degree feel free to apply for the Teachers Eligibility test. This exam is for candidates who want to apply for government teacher's job.

It is mandatory now to clear the TET exam of the respective state to get job in government schools. The rule was made mandatory by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development. The HRD Ministry was worried about the dropping standard of education in govenment schools.

Now the exam for central government schools like Kendriya Vidhalaya and Tibetan Schools are called Central Teachers Eligibility Test while the state governments conduct their own TET entrance exam.

It is often believed that CTET is more difficult in comparison to the exam conducted by the state governments. Less than 10 percent candidates manages to clear the TET entrance exams.

Eligibility

1. Only Indian citizens can apply.

2. A bachelor degree in any discipline.

3. Minimum of 50 percent marks in graduation.

4. B.Ed degree is also mandatory.

5. There is no upper age limit to apply for TET.

To clear the TET entrance exam, general candidates must score minimum of 60 percent marks while SC/ST candidates need 55 percent marks.
